Maintaining meaningful connections with professionals in the industry requires consistent and authentic engagement. I regularly interact with their posts by commenting thoughtfully, sharing insights, or simply celebrating their achievements. Additionally, I make an effort to share relevant articles, opportunities, or ideas that might benefit them. Periodically, I also reach out directly to check in, exchange updates, or explore potential collaborations. This balance of genuine interest and value-driven communication helps nurture lasting professional relationships.

For a sole proprietor, it's the same. I am the president of the Richard K Weinman brand and what the public perceives me to be will be how I am thought of in the marketplace.

Unfortunately, you have to maintain a sense of decorum while using social media. There are times when, as a business owner, you truly want to share a private aspect of your life. I have found the way to do that is to keep my digital media locked down and custom on a per-platform basis. Tips: Please review every platform you currently use and what you can and cannot do. Example: X with them opening the blocking. People who you have blocked can now still view your content. The only way to not have that happen? Change to a private account now. Keep your content under 20 percent business on some platforms, while others, like LinkedIn, are 90% business-focused with some personality sprinkled in. Want more tips? Contact me.

Personal branding and professional networking are inherently linked, not separate entities. Your online presence reflects your professional identity. To effectively manage this: - Be authentic: Let your personality shine, but keep it relevant to your career/audience/interests. - Engage meaningfully: Participate in discussions, share insights, and build genuine connections. - Set boundaries & cadence: Prioritize your time and energy to avoid getting tired of it and giving up! Remember, your online presence is an extension of you. Be genuine, engage and be strategic to build a strong personal brand and professional network, together in one effort.
