WHAT CYBER FOR GOOD IS

Cyber for Good is an ITU project that aims to bridge the cybersecurity capacity gap in the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) through facilitated support and access to ITU Members’ experience, expertise, services, tools, and products.

The Cyber for Good project supports the Partner2Connect (P2C) Digital Coalition initiative in fostering safe and meaningful connectivity enabling digital transformation efforts globally by supporting developing countries’ cybersecurity improvement.

CYBERSECURITY CAPACITY GAP

Least Developed Countries (LDCs) have the least capacity in terms of resources, skills, and tools to proactively manage cybersecurity risks. Global cybersecurity trends show that this gap has been increasing over time.

Cybersecurity monitoring data shows that while the average developed country's national cybersecurity performance has steadily improved since 2017, the average LDC cybersecurity performance has declined.

According to the ITU Global Cybersecurity Index,  the improvement rate is significantly slower in Least Developed Countries, leaving them with an outpaced national cybersecurity posture.
