Privacy Policy

Effective from 27th July, 2021

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Lyceum Technologies Inc. or any of its affiliates or subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as “Lyceum” “We”, “Us” or “Our”) Processes Personal Information collected from you.

This Policy applies to all the products, services, websites and apps offered by Lyceum Technologies Inc. and its affiliates/partners, except specified otherwise. In this document, Lyceum explains what information of yours will be collected when you access the Services, how such Personal Information will be used, and how you can control the collection, correction and/or deletion of your Personal Information. Lyceum will not use or share your Personal Information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. 1. Definitions

1.1 “Controller” means the natural or legal person, public authority, agency, or other body which alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of Personal Information.

1.2 “End-User” means any person or entity with whom you as a subscriber interacts with using the Service(s).

1.3 “Personal Information” means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

1.4 “Process” means any operation or set of operations which is performed on Personal Information or on sets of Personal Information, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.

1.5 “Service(s)” shall have the meaning ascribed to it in the Terms.

1.6 “Terms” means the binding contract between Lyceum and you which governs the access and use of the Service(s) by you available at https://www.hippovideo.io/


2. Information You Provide to us Directly

2.1Lyceum collects Personal Information from you in the following scenarios:

a) When you subscribe for any of Lyceum’s Service(s) by agreeing to the Terms;
b) When you submit web forms on Our Website(s) or as you use interactive features of the Website(s), including providing feedback or suggestions, making requests, or participation in surveys, contests, webinars, events, podcasts, promotions, sweepstakes, requesting customer support, or otherwise communicating with us;
c) When you provide testimonials, case studies, forms or information to us in other contexts; or
d) When you choose to leverage Our integration with certain platforms, Lyceum solicits your permission to gain access to your account including email messages, contacts and calendar. Lyceum may store a subset of this information in Our servers, as specified in Section 6.1, when you choose to track the videos that you sent via the platform selected and Hippo Video’s integration.


3. Information Lyceum Collects That is Not Provided by You

3.1 User Details:When a User interacts with Our application, Lyceum tracks information such as IP, location, device information and browser information. Lyceum also tracks information on how an individual landed on the Hippo Video Website.

3.2 Event Logs:A log of all User-generated requests is maintained to debug in case the need arises. This includes User information such as IP, location, OS information, browser, device type and the time which the User interacted with the platform. These log files are encrypted and will be retained for a period of three (3) months.

3.3 Information from your browser:Lyceum may collect your personal information or data from third parties or websites to whom you have given your personal data through your browser. Browsers generally have a “Do not track” policy. If you don’t want to be tracked, you must enable this option on every browser you use.

3.4 Uploaded Content and Third Party Information:When you post audio-visual materials to your website or to a third party website, we may collect information about your account and the use of the content that you may post. If you use Our invitation features, such as chats and sending invitations to friends, Lyceum may collect some information from them.

3.5 Information from other sources: Lyceum may also collect or receive your Personal Information from other sources such as:
a) Lyceum’s business or channel partners through which you create or access your Account, such as marketing service providers, social media services or apps or websites that use Lyceum’s APIs or whose APIs Lyceum uses.
b) Publicly available sources
c) Lists or databases but only where We have checked that these third parties either have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose your Personal Information to us,
d) Email add-ons;
e) Through the combining of information We obtain from third parties along with the Personal Information you provide to Us
f) Web beacons, tags, scripts and other similar technologies to recognise visitors, track website navigation and understand advertising campaign effectiveness and/or

4. Purposes for Which Personal Data will be Processed

4.1 Lyceum Processes your Personal Data in the following scenarios:
a) to facilitate your access and use of the Website(s) and Service(s).
b) to process and complete payment transactions.
c) to provide customer service and support.
d) to send you communication on your use of the Service(s), updates on Our Terms or other policies.
e) to send you communication on new features in the Service(s) or new service offerings.
f) to conduct research, analysis and development activities (including but not limited to data analytics, surveys and/or profiling) to improve Our Service(s) and facilities in order to enhance your relationship with Us or for your benefit or to improve any of Our Service(s) for your benefit.
g) to organise seminars, events or other marketing/ promotional activities.
h) to investigate and prevent fraudulent transactions, unauthorized access to the Websites and Service(s), and other illegal activities.
i) to personalize the Websites and Service(s) including to show you advertising that you may be interested in as explained in Section 4.2.
j) in the event Lyceum merges with or is acquired by another company, sells Lyceum’s Websites, Mobile Application(s), or business units, or if all or a substantial portion of Lyceum’s assets are acquired by another company. In such cases, your information will likely be one of the assets that is transferred; and
k) for other purposes for which Lyceum obtains your consent.

4.2 Lyceum may with third-party partners and vendors, use technologies such as cookies, pixels, and web beacons to collect and store information about you when you use or interact with Our Website and Services in order to provide you with targeted advertising based on your browsing activities and interests. 5. Sharing of Personal Data

5.1 You acknowledge that Lyceum will share your Personal Data with its group companies and third-party service providers so that they may offer you Lyceum’s Service(s) and/or to send information or updates on the Service(s) if you are a subscriber.

5.2 When Lyceum Processes your order where you are a subscriber, it may send your Personal Data to and also use the resulting information from credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases.

5.3 Lyceum shares Personal Data with Our third-party service providers that host and maintain the Lyceum Website(s), applications, backup, storage, payment processing, analytics and other services. These third-party service providers may have access to or Process your Personal Data for the purpose of providing these services for Us.

  • 5.3.1 Google Workspace Data Usage: Lyceum does not use any data from Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine learning models. Lyceum’s use of Google user data, if any, is strictly limited to providing and enhancing the specific services requested by the Customer. Further, Lyceum does not transfer Google user data to third-party AI tools for purposes of developing generalized or non-personalized AI/ML models. Any use of Google user data complies with Google’s API policies and is confined to the Customer’s specific needs.

5.4 Lyceum may share your Personal Data with third-party providers who assist Us in marketing and promotions.

5.5 Lyceum may also disclose your Personal Data:
a) As required to comply with applicable law or regulation, or to comply with law enforcement.
b) To respond to claims and/or legal process.
c) To protect Our rights or Our property, or to enforce Our Terms of Service.
d) To help ensure the safety of the public or an individual.
e) To prevent behaviour that is (or that Lyceum thinks may be) illegal or unethical.

5.6 Lyceum may also share Personal Data to assist investigation and prevention of illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of Lyceum’s Terms, or as otherwise required by law.


6. Connecting Your Email Account via Social Media

6.1 You can choose to provide explicit consent to connect your email accounts with your Account. Once connected, Lyceum will securely access and analyse the relevant contents related to the Services provided by Lyceum. Lyceum encourages you to review your Personal Information prior to signing in through the applicable service. Where Lyceum has your authorisation, Lyceum may store your email messages, email messages headers, message bodies, or attachments.

6.2 Further, Our Site includes social media features and widgets that are either hosted by a third-party or hosted directly on Our Site; Your interaction with these social media features and widgets is governed by the privacy statement of the companies that provide them. Ensure that you check your privacy settings on these third-party services to understand and change the information sent to Us through these Services. This data may be combined with the other information Lyceum collects and might include aggregated levels of specific data.


7. Legal Basis

7.1 If you are a data subject from the European Economic Area, Our legal basis for collecting and using the Personal Information described above will depend on the Personal Information concerned and the specific context in which Lyceum collects it. Lyceum will normally collect Personal Information from you only where it is needed to perform a contract with you, where the processing is in Our legitimate interests and not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms, or where Lyceum has your consent. In some cases, Lyceum may also have a legal obligation to collect Personal Information from you. If Lyceum Processes your Personal Information with reliance on your consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time. 8. International Transfer

8.1 Lyceum mainly Processes Personal Data in the United States of America. However, it may transfer Personal Data outside the United States of America for the purposes referred to in Section 4 and 5. Lyceum will ensure that the recipient of your Personal Data offers an adequate level of protection that is at least comparable to that which is provided under applicable data protection laws.


9. Retention of Personal Data

9.1 Lyceum retains the Personal Data collected where an ongoing legitimate business requires retention of such Personal Data.

9.2 In the absence of a need to retain Personal Data under Section 9.1. above, Lyceum will either delete or aggregate it in accordance with the Terms or, if this is not possible then Lyceum will securely store your Personal Data and isolate it from any further Processing until deletion is possible.


10. Security of Personal Data

10.1 Lyceum uses appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the Personal Data that it collects and Processes. The measures Lyceum uses are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risk of Processing your Personal Data. 11. Your Rights

You are entitled to the following rights:

11.1 Right to be informed: You are entitled to know whether Lyceum holds your Personal Information and the purpose your Personal Information is processed for.
11.2 Right of access: You are entitled to obtain a copy of your Personal Information, together with an explanation of the categories of Personal Information being processed, the purposes of such processing, and the details of third parties to whom the Personal Information may have been disclosed to.
11.3 Right to rectification: You are entitled to correct/update your Personal Information available with us.
11.4 Right to erasure: You are entitled to get your Personal Information erased from Our customer relationship management (CRM) databases. Please note that Lyceum needs to retain certain Personal Information about you for legal and internal business reasons, such as fraud prevention. Lyceum will retain your Personal Information for as long as necessary to provide you with the websites and apps you are eligible to use and as needed to comply with our legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
11.5 Right to data portability: You are entitled to obtain and reuse your Personal Information. You can either obtain the Personal Information from us or, in turn, provide it to a third party (if you so wish), or ask us to transfer your Personal Information directly to a third party.
11.6 Right to object/restrict processing or both: You have a right to object/restrict the processing of your Personal Information in some circumstances, including where the Personal Information is inaccurate (for the period during which Lyceum is verifying the Personal Information), the Personal Information is no longer required in light of the purpose of processing, or in connection with direct marketing (you can prevent/discontinue marketing communications to you by checking certain boxes on the forms Lyceum uses to collect your Personal Information), or by utilizing opt-out mechanisms in the emails Lyceum sends you.
11.7 In the above cases, Lyceum will retain minimum Personal Information to note that you opted out from being contacted again. For the exercise of any of the above-mentioned rights, please write to us at the email address provided in Section 14.


12. Privacy of Children

12.1 Lyceum recognizes the importance of children's safety and privacy. Lyceum does not request, or knowingly collect, any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 18. Our Subscribers may while using our Services relating to education and training collect information from children under the age of 18. In such cases, it is the Subscriber’s responsibility to comply with applicable law, and obtain consent from a parent or guardian before transmitting this information to Lyceum. Lyceum is very sensitive to privacy issues regarding children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with Personal Information, he or she should write to us at the email address provided in Section 14.


13. Amendment to Privacy Policy

Lyceum Technologies Inc. keeps this Policy under regular review and may update this webpage at any time. This Policy may be amended at any time and You shall be notified only if there are material changes to this Policy.

15. Notice to EndUser and Other Exclusions

15.1 Where the Services are made available to an End-User through an enterprise, that enterprise is the Controller of the End-User’s Personal Information. In such a case, the End-User’s data privacy questions and requests should be submitted to the subscriber in its capacity as the End-User’s Controller. If the End-User is an individual who interacts with a subscriber using Our Services, the End-User will be directed to contact Our subscriber for assistance with any requests or questions relating to their Personal Information. Lyceum is not responsible for subscribers’ privacy or security practices which may be different from this notice. Subscribers to Our Services are solely responsible for establishing policies for and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, as well as all privacy policies, agreements, or other obligations, relating to the collection of Personal Information in connection with the use of Our Services by End-Users.

15.2 With the exception of Personal Information collected when you register for an account to access or utilize Our Service(s) and other information Lyceum collects in connection with their registration or authentication into Our Service(s), this Notice does not apply in connection with access and use of Our Service(s). The security and privacy practices, including how Lyceum protects, collect, and use electronic data, text, messages, communications, or other materials submitted to and stored within the Service(s) by the User, are detailed in and governed by Our Terms or such other applicable agreement between the subscriber and Us relating to the access to and the use of such Services.

15.3 Some of the functionality on Our Website(s) may be provided by third parties that are not affiliated with Lyceum. These entities may collect or receive certain information about your use of Our Website and your activities over time and across different websites, including through the use of cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies. This Privacy Policy does not apply to, and Lyceum is not responsible for, third-party cookies, web beacons, or other tracking technologies. Lyceum is not responsible for the privacy practices of these entities. Also, Our Services may contain links to other websites not operated or controlled by Lyceum. Such websites are not under Our control and Lyceum is not responsible for their privacy policies or practices. If you provide any Personal Information through any such third-party website, Lyceum recommends that you familiarize yourself with the privacy policies and practices of that third party and also you also consent to the terms of service/use and privacy policies of these third parties.
