Presight AI supports UCI World Tour cycling through new partnership with UAE Tour
Presight AI, a G42 company and the region’s leader in Big Data Analytics powered by AI, has signed a strategic partnership with Abu Dhabi Sports Council to sponsor a stage in the women’s and men’s UAE Tour.
The partnership was ratified at a ceremony on February 8th at the Abu Dhabi Cycling Club with Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, signing on behalf of ADSC and CEO Thomas Pramotedham on behalf of Presight, in the presence of COO Dr. Adel Al Sharji.
The technology-focused partnership underscores Presight’s ongoing work in professional sports as it looks to leverage big data and analytics powered by AI to advance the performance of athletes, teams and organisations in both elite and amateur cycling.
The inaugural UAE Tour Women runs from 9th to 12th February and brings together 20 teams, including world-renowned UAE Team ADQ, Movistar Team, and Team Jumbo Visma, to compete over four gruelling stages of world-class road racing. Presight AI has become the Stage Sponsor for the race’s final 119km sprint stage, which runs from Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy to the Abu Dhabi Breakwater.
In the men’s edition of the race, which runs from 20th to 26th February, Presight is the Stage Sponsor of the opening stage, which starts at Al Dhafra Castle and ends in Al Mirfa after 151km racing and sees UAE Team Emirates, Jumbo-Visma, Soudal-Quick Step and Ineos as some of the confirmed teams vying for stage victories or looking to take home the coveted red leaders' jersey.
Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight AI, said, “The UAE tour is a key event on the UCI World Tour calendar where we see our world-class athletes who push themselves beyond limits. Presight’s sponsorship of two stages of the UAE Tour, for women and men, is a testament to our commitment to the professional sports arena and promoting local sports excellence.
“This collaboration presents a unique opportunity for us to delve deeper into our expertise as we explore the exciting potential of big data analytics and artificial intelligence in professional cycling and sports across the region," the CEO said.
Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said, “The two races are the first UCI World Tour events in the Middle East, and we highly value this partnership with Presight AI. The UAE Tours for women and men are excellent platforms to showcase the UAE to the world and establish cycling culture in the country.”
