FIRST LOOK: Florence Pugh seen for the first time as Princess Irulan in Dune: Part Two .. as Zendaya caresses Timothee Chalamet in another image

Fans get a first look at Dune: Part Two, published exclusively on Vanity Fair.

In the photos, Zendaya and Timothee Chalamet are seen getting close as they gaze into each other's eyes.

The second image shows Florence Pugh, who joined the franchise for the sequel to play Princess Irulan.

Timothee plays Paul Atreides in the project - with Zendaya as Chani. They both starred in the 2021 film Dune. 

The film is set to be released on November 3, 2023.

The movie, directed by Denis Villeneuve, is a sequel to the 2021 Dune film

Joining the cast in addition to Florence is Elvis star Austin Butler, who will play Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen.

Timothee, Zendaya and Denis spoke to Vanity Fair about the upcoming film.

On the addition of Florence as Princess Irulan, Denis said: 'When I met Florence, I was struck by her assurance, how grounded she is as a young woman, how direct, how unapologetic. She has something inherently royal about her.'

'I will definitely believe that Florence could become, in the future, a prime minister,' he added.

Florence's character Princess Irulan is the daughter of Emperor Shaddam IV, played Christopher Walken.

'Her stake could not be higher because she's afraid that her father could lose the throne, could lose everything,' she said. 

Austin 'brought to the screen something that would be a cross between a psychotic, a sociopath serial killer and Mick Jagger, Denis said. 

On the love story between Timothee's character Paul and Zendaya's character Chani, certain questions came up.

Zendaya said: 'It was funny trying to figure out in this futuristic space talk: How do they flirt?'

'What does that look like for a space warrior and the young duke of a planet?' she added.

'How do they show that they like each other? What does that even sound like? We were definitely trying to navigate that, which was funny because all of us were stumped. I think it's just as foreign to us as it probably is the characters.' 

Timothee said that Zendaya's character Chani is the 'key' to his own: 'The universe of Dune is a complex world of geopolitics and with tons of ecological and technological metaphors that hold up today.'

'But at the center, there's this relationship where Chani sort of becomes a moral compass... Even to say that out loud feels kind of huge, and she's really the humanizing, ground force to that,' he told the outlet.
