On West Ham

It's a really poor performance from start to finish. There's going to be a painful transitional period. The players have to stick together.

You have to give the manager a chance to implement his beliefs - that's a must. It was a fantastic performance from Chelsea but West Ham will be kicking themselves.

On Chelsea

They were dominant, they were strong, they were positive. They looked sharp, they looked organised. West Ham couldn't lay a glove on them. It was a real strong showing.

This could be the first time we've seen a real glimpse of what this new Chelsea team is capable of

They were good but I saw a chance to run behind them. I tried to score as early as possible.

The most important is the team to win. I don't care about to play or not play.

For the first time in their history, West Ham lose their opening three matches at home. Chelsea were just far too good for them in all honesty.

Nicolas Jackson's brace and Cole Palmer's strike early in the second-half send the Blues up to second in the Premier League table.

Soler gets a yellow after catching Cucurella late.

Four minutes of stoppage-time to follow.

The Argentinian's performance has been a bright one and he gets replaced by Dewsbury-Hall for the remaining six minutes or so.

The striker's frustration shows as he recklessly lunges into Caicedo. He gets booked immedietly.

And now is stadium is half empty. 10 minutes to go.

Oles can be heard from Chelsea fans and some home supporters head for the exit.

Can't really blame them. It's been an awful performance from Wwst Ham.

Chelsea are really enjoying themselves out there. Caicedo delivers a cross into the back-post and Nkunku is on the end of it... but he's denied by a brilliant point-blank save by Areola.

Two more changes for West Ham. Paqueta is replaced by Andy Irving, while Cresswell takes Emerson's place.

The Spainard is booked for a horrific challenge on Kudus, who rolls around in agony.

Enzo Maresca rolls the changes again as Jackson and Palmer go off to be replaced by Nkunku and Felix.

Chelsea are absoloutely stacked with attacking talent, aren't they?

Chelsea look like scoring everytime they come forward. They counter-attack with three vs two this time before Madueke unleashes a shot which Areola gets a strong hand to.

Chelsea are just sat back and they seem happy to let West Ham have the ball and pick them off.

It's Chelsea's turn to make two changes as Fofana and Sancho make way for Disasi and Neto.

Two more changes for the hosts as Antonio and Soler come in for Summerville and Alvarez.

West Ham come on the front foot as Wan-Bissaka loops one to Bowen, who strikes from close range... but Sanchez palms it away comfortably.

Ruthless.

Chelsea go from defending inside their own box to attacking in a blink of an eye. Jackson comes with it, plays it wide to Palmer, who finishes it off in style via the post.

Should this have been a penalty? I think so. Fofana clearly pulls back Summerville.

West Ham have a mountain to climb after being undone by two Nicolas Jackson start following a shocking start.

Julen Lopetegui has his work cut out but they've got another 45 minutes to redeem themselves.

Fofana goes into the book for again pulling back Sumerville, who has looked bright down West Ham's left side.

Sanchez almost has a moment to forget as he comes out after a long ball into the box. Kudus gets ther ebefore him but he puts too much power on the balland Chelsea eventually manage to get it away.

You can almost hear a pin drop here and can you really blame the West Ham fans?

The winger has started the season brightly and attempts to curl one into the bottom corner... but it goes wide of the post.

I mentioned earlier Lopetegui has not been a happy man and he makes the first change of the afternoon already. Soucek comes on for Rodriguez.

Paqueta slides in Kudus with an outstanding through ball - the Ghanian finishes the move but it's immedietly ruled out for offside.

West Ham are on top.

Summerville attempts to plays a one-two with Paqueta and is dragged back by Fofana inside the box.

A VAR check follows and the on field decision stands after a lengthy delay. Lopetegui is not a happy man down there!

West Ham have regained some control and if anyone is going pose threat, it's going to be Kudus. He's been their brightest spark so far.

The West Ham boss is screaming from the sideline and I'm sure every single one of those West Ham players can hear him.

Surely it can only get better from here?

My colleague KATHRYN BATTE is watching this one from the press box and here is her thoughts on the second goal.

That was a lovely move by Chelsea for the second goal but West Ham's players looked like statues. No energy and it was far too easy for their opponents to pass around them.

The visitors double their lead!

Chelsea move the ball well in the centre of the field and Caicedo slides Jackson through on goal and he expertly dispatches.

The defending from West Ham has been horrific.

Chelsea commit bodies forward and are caught on the counter. Emerson comes in from the left and is brought down by Fofana.

Paqueta's low free-kick strikes the wall.

Jackson is proving to be a massive threat down this left side. He travels with the ball and delivers a cross into the box but Palmer's effort goes wide of the post. Bright start from the visitors!

The Chelsea star has been caught a few times and was limping in the opening exchanges. One to keep an eye on.

West Ham take a quick freekick of their own, Kuduas then whips in a cross into the backpost but it just about goes beyond Summerville.

What a start!

West Ham are caught sleeping as Chelsea take a quick free-kick near the half way line. Jackson plays a one-two with Sancho and runs through on goal before putting the balls through Areola's legs and into the back of the net

It's the hosts who get us underway this weekend.

As mentioned earlier, Tosin Adarabioyo is set for his first start for Chelsea in the Premier League.

Enzo Maresca has opted for three centre-backs in the team, but it will be Wesley Fofana who will slot in at right-back in the absence of Reece James and Malo Gusto.

Both sets of players are currently going through their pace with kick-off approaching.

It's due to be a full house at the London Stadium this afternoon. The atmosphere should be a great one too even though it's the daunted 12:30 kick-off.

Not long to go until we're underway!

We are quite good. We could do better. we could do worse. The most important thing is the way the team is progressing.

Very good team (West Ham). Very good manager. There are some very good players and you can see game after game they are getting better.

I really like this club. I spent two years here almost three years. I really enjoyed it. I twas a good moment with some good players like Mark Noble and Aaron Creswell.

These two sides last met at the London Stadium in August 2023 and it was the hosts who claimed a 3-1 victory.

Goals from Nayef Aguerd, Michail Antonio and Lucas Paqueta did the business for the Hammers. They would love a repeat of that today.

It's been a bright-ish start to the day in London. Let's happy it stays that way... but don't hold your breath.

Jadon Sancho in Chelsea colours is something i'm still adjusting to, but here we are.

Jadon Sancho starts for the first time as a Chelsea player having impressed off the bench against Bournemouth last weekend with an assist.

There's also a first league start for Tosin Adarabioyo following his free transfer from Fulham, while Enzo Fernandez returns after an illness.
