Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes have blamed the media storm that engulfed their romance for 'costing them their careers' by 'making controversy' - two years after their scandalous affair got them fired from ABC.

The former Good Morning America co-hosts were exposed by DailyMail.com for having an affair in 2022 and have since been embroiled in intense scrutiny over their relationship.

After the affair became public, Amy, 51, split from husband Andrew Shue and T.J., 47, from wife Marilee Fiebig. Holmes was accused of other workplace affairs, including one with a 24-year-old 'intern'.

They recently admitted their PDA-riddled love affair hit murky waters and are now pointing the finger at the media by branding the chatter around their romance 'poisonous.'

During a recent episode of their podcast, Amy & T.J., they reflected on the moment they lost their jobs and said they wished they had 'set the record straight' sooner.

The lovebirds were speaking with Full House star Jodie Sweetin and discussed their affair's 'controversy.'

Amy said: 'You know how — we know this — how some publications love to jump on any kind of, even seeming — like they almost make controversy where it doesn't even exist.'

Jodie chimed in and claimed that she had 'driven herself mad' by listening to other people's opinions.

And although the Full House actress noted that she had to stop engaging, T.J. and Amy claimed that ignoring the headlines ruined their careers.

T.J. explained: 'Us ignoring and not responding cost us jobs, cost us careers. That stuff is so poisonous sometimes and it does — it can do more than just mess with your head. It can have real-world consequences.'

'Let's all just give each other a little bit of grace to not be perfect,' Jodie added.

'And particularly those of us who are in front of the camera, like, now, cameras are everywhere. You used to be like, "OK switch off... get to go be like a crazy person over there," you know.'

Just last month, Amy and T.J. made another shocking confession when they admitted that there had been trouble in paradise lately as they had made their romance 'secondary.'

The couple shared that they forgot about their own relationship because they became so focused on work.

Amy explained: 'We are together all the time, but either we were with the kids or we were working, and we were working a lot, which is great—we love to work. But we didn't get to have, like, us time.

'We work together and we are in a relationship together and we were friends before as colleagues, so it's a strange thing like you've got the work relationship and then you've got the romantic relationship, and the two actually don't coexist.'

Her lover echoed her opinions and admitted that they didn't prioritize each other.

They admitted that although they could 'laugh about it now' and were more in love than ever, they didn't utter one word to each other during the flight.

DailyMail.com exclusively broke the news that Amy and T.J. had been embroiled in a secret love affair back in November 2022 - while they were both married to other people.

Amy wed her now-ex-husband, Melrose Place alum Andrew Shue, in February 2009, while T.J. tied the knot with his now-ex-wife, Marilee Fiebig, in 2010.
