Five Guys launches two new limited edition milkshakes - but customers will have to be quick to get their hands on the new flavours

As temperatures rise and the sun shines brighter, there's no better way to beat the heat than with a cool, creamy milkshake.

And Five Guys fans are in for a real treat, as the American fast-food franchise has added a splash of summer sweetness to its UK menu with the launch of two new milkshake flavours.

Joining its already extensive milkshake menu are the new Mango and Raspberry Summer Shakes - but fans need to be quick, as the additions will only be available for a limited time.

The new Mango Shake combines the sweetness of mangoes with Five Guys' signature creamy milkshake base.

Meanwhile, its Raspberry Shake is described by the chain as 'more tangy and invigorating'.

Five Guys fans are in for a real treat, as the American fast-food franchise has added a splash of summer sweetness to its UK menu with the launch of two new milkshake flavours

According to Five Guys, the new Raspberry Shake 'perfectly pairs the sweet fruit with the burger chain's creamy vanilla base for a classic ripple-style milkshake perfect for summer sipping'.

Both the Raspberry Mango shakes are now available to purchase in a regular size for the cool price of £5.95.

Customers can dine-in or takeaway in any Five Guys restaurant across England, Scotland and Wales.

They can alternatively order through UberEats, Just Eat and Deliveroo for home delivery.

The two latest additions join Five Guys' existing lineup of 11 mix-in flavours, allowing more than 1,000 ways for customers to fully customise their shake from the existing ingredients list.

The new Summer Shakes can be enjoyed on their own, together, or paired with any of Five Guys' mix-ins - including Oreo, Biscoff, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Fresh Strawberries, Fresh Banana, Salted Caramel, and even Bacon.

Like the Pistachio mix-in they replaced, these mix-ins are Limited Edition, so they won’t be around forever.

News of the new shakes comes after Five Guys revealed the real reason behind its enormous portions of regular fries last year.

Five Guys has long mystified and delighted diners by shoving a small mound of seemingly free extra fries at the bottom of its takeaway bags.

For years, the fast food favourite - which has 1,700 diners worldwide - claimed it was just nicer guys than its competitors.

Speaking in 2016 Five Guys chief Chad Murrell said: 'I won't name names, but other restaurants just don't give a satisfying amount of fries.'

But while it seems like a freebie - is it too good to be true?

Some cynics believe it is a way to get diners to believe they are getting good value - but that the cost of the extra fries is already factored into the price. However, the chain says it is simply generous.
