Giới thiệu về chúng tôi

Vietnam Animal Aid is a vegan animal rights organization that has a rescue shelter and farm sanctuary in Hoi An, Vietnam. We are part of a growing, global, non-speciesist animal rights movement that works to protect all sentient beings. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering of all species, through mass sterilization/vaccinations, vegan education, and improving veterinary care across Vietnam. We advocate for a fully vegan lifestyle and for abolition of all animal use and exploitation. Since 2013, we have been rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing hundreds of cats and dogs and with our previous clinic ran veterinary training, community sterilization, and mobile clinic programs. We are now opening a new mobile veterinary clinic to service all species who need us in central Vietnam. In 2021, once the borders reopen, we will being our veterinary training programs again with visiting veterinarians. We advocate for a fully vegan lifestyle and for abolition of all animal use and exploitation. We will accomplish our mission through sterilization/vaccination and building the veterinary industry of Vietnam to provide adequate health care for all species, while also educating people about the power of veganism to save animals, curb climate change, and protect human health. We are a small charitable organization which is a registered US 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 81-3546781) and rely on donations from individuals such as yourself. • We are finally up and running at the Phong Dien Wildlife Rescue! We have added 2 full time international staff to the team at PD and the animals are finally getting the care they need. It's hard to overstate what this means for our work combating the wildlife trade. This rescue center was started by the Vietnamese government with the intention of taking in animals confiscated from wildlife trafficking. However, that's where their commitment ended. They built some enclosures that are not even inhabitable because no one who actually works with animals was involved in the oversight of the construction. They did not hire any staff with any experience in animal care. They built buildings for a vet clinic, but did not hire vets or buy basic vet equipment. None of the animals confiscated were given basic vet exams upon arrival, nor had they received any care such as parasite control, appropriate diets, clean habitats, or any species-specific needs. As a result, animals have been dying by the dozens since their arrival and until we got the Four Paws Bear Sanctuary vets onsite last week, none of these animals had a chance at survival. Thanks to these vets and their team, DRASTIC improvements have been made to the facility and we are deeply indebted to them. Now we need YOUR support. We sadly have lost many followers and funds as we have added this project to our organization's work as a rescue shelter and community animal care project in Hoi An. We have nearly 150 animals in our care that include our dogs, cats, and chickens in Hoi An and snakes, birds, turtles, tortoises, lizards, and a wallaby and camel in Phong Dien- ALL of whom need funds to survive. PLEASE share, donate, like, and comment to get our vital work shared for these two rescue centers in Vietnam! 🐱 vnanimalaid.org/donate/ 🐱 https://lnkd.in/dzUnNMGK 🐱 https://lnkd.in/esNbCpn6 🐱 venmo: @vnanimalaid 🐱 revolut: @vnanimalaid 🐱 Momo: Tên tài khoản: Trần Tuyết Mai, Số tài khoản: 0905297096 🐱 VP Bank: 0938539243, Trần Tuyết Mai THANK YOU!

We are Hiring for IMMEDIATE start! We are looking for a full-time shelter manager for our small sanctuary in Hoi An. As we shift from rescue to mass sterilization/vaccination in the community, we need an experienced shelter manager to not only care for our onsite rescues but to be able to effectively manage the cases outside our gates and coordinate with the clinics and owners. This is a job for a hard-working, trustworthy, and reliable vegan who is dedicated to animal rights and has experience living and working abroad in low-resource countries. We unfortunately cannot hire anyone without this experience. We are the only anti-speciesist rescue in the country and are working towards developing our community care project, a wildlife project, and a vegan advocacy program as well. We offer a $500/mo salary with 5 day work week, 21 days paid holiday, private accommodations, visa renewal, motorbike/bicycle, and phone and petrol allowance. Send us your CV and cover letter to [email protected]. #jobvacancy #veganism #animalrescue #farmsanctuary #rescuechicken #rescueshelter

  • We're hiring! Vietnam Animal Aid in beautiful Hoi An is looking for a long-term shelter manager with some admin/media capabilities and an excellent track record in facility care and experience working abroad. We offer a salary, accommodations, motorbike, paid holiday, a 5-day work week, and visa renewals so you can really settle into this lovely UNESCO World Heritage Town and become a local while taking our organization to the next level. This position is for people with mature and reliable people with international experience with animals, and not just in developed countries. Vietnam can be rather chaotic and messy and you need to be able to handle that and be happy to learn to drive a motorbike. We are not actively rescuing animals for intake, but are working on adoptions and restarting our mobile vet work and community animal care projects focusing on preventative care and keeping animals from ever needing to be rescued in the first place. This is a vegan organization and it would not be a good fit for someone who eats animal products. We have the best vegan food in the world in Vietnam so come on over and try it out! Please send CV and cover letter to [email protected]. PLEASE SHARE! #jobposting #jobvacancy #veganforlife #farmsanctuary #animalrescue

  • We are reaching out to find any vets with pig experience, ideally seniors, who can consult with us. This is an emergency and in Vietnam we have no help whatsoever. Our big boy, Julian, had the new African Swine Fever vaccine in April and had a bad reaction to it. Now he has declining kidney function and anemia and is just so lethargic and really struggling. We have ZERO veterinary care from the vets near us. We got them to spend a total of 20 minutes with him just to take blood one time and the next to put in an ear catheter which came out after a day anyway. To our vets here, he is really just a joke to even interact with, much less treat. I am currently on crutches after my ankle fusion surgery and cannot do much with him given my inability to move around on sand. I am the only staff with any large animal experience at all and cannot even help my Julian who has been my perfect son for 9 and half years. No one has given us any advice on treatments and further diagnostics and we are running out of time. We have tried contacting American universities, but they seem to want to only interact with other vets for overseas consults, not private clients even though I am an American running a US nonprofit in Vietnam for 11 years. Other sanctuaries can give us contacts, but not even private clinics have gotten back to us on his case. He is the ONLY pig in all of Vietnam to have been given the opportunity to live out his full lifespan in a vegan sanctuary. We are IT for his species and because of that, no one is helping. Please help if you are able. We are extremely desperate. I am on the verge of asking for euthanasia because we simply are not able to help him and he is miserable. But then it may take weeks before our vets will even bother getting around to that too. #pigvet #farmsanctuary #veganfortheanimals #veterinarian

  • I’m going to say something very controversial for an animal rescue: STOP USING ANIMALS. Stop eating their flesh and secretions. Stop wearing their fur and skins. Stop experimenting on them. Stop using them for your personal entertainment. Stop breeding them. And I’m not just talking about dogs, cats, minks, elephants, and dolphins. I mean EVERY species. This is an extremely controversial post for a rescue organization that has saved cats and dogs from the meat trade in Vietnam. To save dogs AND be against the use of all other species for food, clothing, entertainment, and research is financial suicide. EVERY SINGLE TIME WE TALK ABOUT VEGANISM WE LOSE DONORS. But saving dogs and cats doesn’t give you the right to harm other animals with impunity. Every animal feels. Every animal suffers. Every animal needs protection from humans. If we spoke only of dog meat bans, we’d be rolling in it. The financial struggle would totally end. I know because this organization began as an anti-dog meat organization 11 years ago. We had broad public support, support that quickly waned as I talked more and more about other species, the same species those donors who “loved animals” all paid to torture and kill. We were outright attacked as extremists. We lost our vet clinic because the dog-loving donors withdrew their support from us vegan terrorists. But we will never be an organization that stays silent about the 3 trillion animals on land and in the sea killed mostly by people who say they are against animal cruelty. This entire industry of rescue is screwed if moral consistency something we should be silent about for financial reasons. So let’s turn this around. If you run an advocacy group of any kind and you continue to support the unnecessary suffering and death of trillions of animals with your actions or just your silence, it is YOU who should be ashamed of yourselves. YOUR hypocrisy is what should be condemned, not the moral consistency of vegans in these fields. If people who work for animals are those we are rescuing animals from, we’ve got some very big problems. Let’s make moral consistency the norm, not the exception! #veganfortheanimals #veganism #animalwelfare #animalrights #animaladvocacy #speciesism

  • We are hiring for an immediate vacancy at our rescue shelter and farm sanctuary in Hoi An, Vietnam! We are short on staff next month and our animals will be without caretakers for the first part of the month if we are unable to get someone in soon to train with our current staff. We have 2 more staff coming at the end of the month, but we need to fill this vacancy for a shelter caretaker with onsite accommodations. Experience with multiple species of animals required as well as time spent in low resource countries. Must be fully vegan and committed to animal rights as we are the only vegan farmed animal sanctuary in the country. We offer onsite accommodations, motorbike rental, visa renewal, a 5 day work week, 5-9 hour workdays, and a salary of 10 mil VND ($400) that increases every 3 months. 6 month minimum stay required but ideally a year or more as it takes a while to get used to the country and the animals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone willing to learn about animal rights in a country like Vietnam and to grow their skills in facility management. Must be physically fit for working in a hot country. Must be good at and enjoy cleaning. Must love all species of animals and have experience with medicating and handling them as well as being able to manage some emergencies. Email us at [email protected] with your CV and cover letter detailing your experience.

  • A couple of weeks ago, we performed the country's first humane euthanasia on a pig. 44 million pigs are killed every year in horrific ways with their throats slit, most not even stunned. They are raised in concrete hell and killed in nightmarish ways, and our nearly 12 year old Lola who started her life as a baby machine in just that same situation spent the past 7 years with us living out her life in peace and with the best care we could provide. Her osteoarthritis had gotten to a point in which we no longer could provide her with a quality of life that was fair for her. She ate well until the end, but she never went out of her barn and had stopped enjoying sunbathing and her daily baths. It took us months of consultations and pestering our small animal vets to even get the protocol for her euthanasia because it had never been done before in Vietnam with such a total lack of access to the drugs we needed. Neither of the vets who helped had any experience with pigs at all. None had ever gotten an IV catheter in one. Both think Lola and her species are nothing more than ingredients rather than sentient beings anyway. We know what we did to ease her suffering was right, but it was incredibly stressful to go through and to prepare for because giving a damn about pigs is simply so rare in animal rescue and especially in veterinary medicine. They are commodities, nothing more. Lola was someONE, not someTHING. She was out princess pig, our sweet girl who was purely innocent and had so many silly quirks. She was brilliant and intuitive and she had her likes and dislikes like every other sentient being. The world, including animal advocates and veterinarians, have a very long way to go before these amazing animals are afforded the respect and care they deserve. I wish Lola could have lived to see that day. As the only farm sanctuary in Vietnam in which a pig could live out their life in peace, we are clearly quite controversial and given the economic downturn throughout the world, our donations and number of donors have been cut in HALF. We barely scrape by. We have absolutely no choice but to cut our residents down as much as possible through overseas adoptions and just try to survive now while we seek non-donation based revenue to care for our animals. Please donate today to help Vietnam's only farmed animal sanctuary and vegan rescue to survive! We need to raise $8000 just this month to pay rent, pay off our vet bill, and keep our shelter open!
