You're almost here! Get ready for orientation – the last step in kicking off your college experience at UNCW.
It gives you the chance to learn crucial information for your studies, as well as to meet your new classmates.
Spring 2024 Orientation Registration will open October 15, 2024.
First Some Work
Our orientation program is designed to help you make a smooth transition to UNCW. You will learn what you need to know to make a successful academic and personal adjustment to UNCW.
Whether you're a first-year or transfer student, you’ll be required to take some online modules that will provide a solid foundation of information for you to learn about UNCW.
Then, you'll meet with your academic advisor and register for your courses, if you haven't already.
Then Some Fun
Once on campus, your orientation leaders have plenty of fun activities planned to engage you in your new life as a Seahawk.
You'll pick up your orientation bag, T-shirt and student ID card, learn about campus resources, take math and language placement tests, learn your way around campus and be welcomed by university leadership.
The whole process concludes with the traditional orientation photo and walk together to the formal convocation ceremony at Trask Coliseum followed by the campus-wide picnic on Hoggard Lawn.
While orientation is required for students, it's optional for your family members and guests. Be sure to keep checking your UNCW email for additional orientation information.
Official university communication will always be sent to your UNCW email account.
