2024: The year of peak petrol!🚙 Starting in 2025, the number of petrol cars will begin to decline as electric vehicle supply continues to accelerate. By 2027, we anticipate nearly a million fewer petrol cars in the parc. With demand still strong, prices are expected to rise, and competition for stock will intensify. A solid used EV strategy will be more important than ever. For more information: https://bit.ly/4fWGcIe #AutoTrader | #EV

Used car market set to rise🚗 Despite the political instability of a general election, used car demand remained resilient this year. We saw 970.6 million visits to Auto Trader over the last 12 months (74 million more than the same period last year!). With such strong fundamentals, and an improving economic outlook, we expect the used car market to maintain the growth momentum of the last two years and rise from e.7.61million sales this year to e.7.70 million. We enter 2025 with retail demand for new cars on Auto Trader increasing (up nearly 20% YoY in November)📈 And so despite challenges, we predict the new car market will grow next year, rising 2% from an estimated 1.94 million registrations to circa 1.98 million. However, there'll be increased competition with +17 more brands than 2019, so OEMs and retailers will have to work harder for share of wallet. Promote your stock on the #1 platform for new car sales. #AutoTrader |#NewCar

💷 What impact did the Budget have on car buying demand…according to our analysis, not much. 🚗 Ahead of the Chancellor’s announcement consumer confidence did drop slightly as uncertainty around tax increases weighed on households and businesses. Since then, however, consumer activity has remained healthy: so far this month, visits to our platform are up 8% YoY, demand is up 6%, cars are selling faster than this time last year (32 days vs 33), and according to our data, sales are currently up circa 7%. 📈 What’s more, in-market confidence remains positive, with our latest consumer research showing nearly 80% of those surveyed are as confident or more in their ability to afford their next car, whilst three quarters are still looking to purchase a car in the next 6 months. Read our latest 2025 forecasts to see how we think this strong demand will play out next year #thebudget #Autotrader #2025MarketForecast
