Don’t become a Facebook Ads business… If you run a business and you’re spending money on paid ads or looking into spending money on paid ads One of the most common things that happen when a brand starts scaling their ads is they take their foot off the pedal with their brand internally Then they become too reliant on Facebook ads, and if there’s one thing we know about Meta, is they don’t really care too much about your brand as an entity. So, if s*it hits the fan. You’re f*cked. Start building an actual brand and telling your brand story Which will also allow you to raise your prices, make more money organically and if anything happens to Facebook or a new platform comes around You can easily begin testing and scaling elsewhere. #BuildABrand #DontRelyOnlyOnAds

SEO or PPC? Speaking to a new potential client this morning who is slap bang in the middle of starting a new business, I was faced with an impossible question. Budget is tight, do I prioritise SEO or PPC? It's always a tough call, but after evaluating the business needs and possible cash flow, we ended up at the tried and tested 1-2 combination. Here’s how I put it to them: 1️⃣ Start with PPC: Use PPC to generate immediate revenue while testing keywords and audience segments. This allows you to gather valuable data quickly, and more importantly, get cash coming in. 2️⃣ Build Your SEO: While PPC is driving traffic, invest in SEO for the same keywords. Gradually improve your organic rankings without sacrificing visibility and improving UX/CPA while you're doing it. 3️⃣ Switch Targets: Once your SEO performance matches or surpasses your PPC results, shift your PPC budget to new keywords or geographies. This keeps your campaigns fresh and broadens your audience reach. 4️⃣ Repeat the Cycle: Continue this process, optimizing and expanding, all while maintaining the same PPC budget until you're ready to grow that too. It's not the first choice, for sure, but still a great one!

WOULD YOU BUY LEADS? Shared leads i.e. leads that you purchase from online market places or lead generation websites can be helpful when you're looking for new business, or when you're going through a quiet patch in your business And they aren't all low quality either🤷 The only problem is these leads are often shared amongst other businesses. Depending on your appetite for "hunting", it can be a mad race to acquire that 1 client, as some platforms offer leads on a 1st-come-1st served basis Worse still, the prospective client can treat service providers who respond to their requests as "commodity" when they shop around. If you're a new ecom brand and you want to leverage email straight away, do this... 1. Get Klaviyo & sync it to your store 2. Create a popup with an offer for email. 10%, free shipping etc 3. Build a welcome flow with 3/4 emails sharing your offer and letting people know why they should buy from you. Add social proof where you can. 4. Build a 3 email abandoned checkout flow that subtly reminds people to buy and add an offer around email 2-3 5. Don't do anything else until you're at $10k a month in overall sales.

Is your small business listed? Everything you need to know. There are many online directories and business listing pages where you can list your business for free. These sites are super important for local SEO, search intent purposes and domain authority. They will also get you in front of more customers online. TOP TIP: You MUST ensure consistency between your company name, address, and phone number information (referred to as NAP) all over the internet. If you don’t keep it consistent, Google will penalise your website. Business Listings: 1. Google Business Profile 2. Bing Places for Business 3. Apple Business Connect (Apple Maps) 4. Yell 5. Yelp! 6. Facebook Business Page 7. Yahoo!  If you are a Surrey Business, you should also try and get a listing on: 1. Waverley for Business 2. Surrey Chamber of Commerce 3. Surrey Circle 4.
