Oh the irony! PPC agencies can't market themselves using PPC: not unless they have huge budgets. But most PPC agency owners don't like using LinkedIn (see RAVING review evidence below 😆). Because it's not data and clicks: it's relationship building and takes time. I have been coaching an agency owner on his LinkedIn over the last few months. He has just won a client that he really wasn't expecting to. How? 😊 We optimised his LinkedIn profile 😊 We offered value to his ideal client 😊 We established trust 😊 He didn't sell 😊 We elevated his profile across LinkedIn 😊 He was generous with his knowledge and his comments and his support for others. 😊 I gave him a list of the ideal people for him to connect with. 😊 I coached him through the relationship-building process. Only 10% of people on LinkedIn actually engage. So as soon as he got more active, he was noticed more. And we made sure his profile was set to encourage people to get in touch off LinkedIn (because senior decision makers often don't engage publicly) In this situation, his client emailed him having seen him on LinkedIn. He sent me this RAVING note... 😆 The new-client funnel is THE most important thing to get right in any business as if your leads dry up, your business dries up. Right? Over 70% of people who sign up to my email newsletter have never engaged with me on LinkedIn... yet this is the only place I market my business... How crazy is that?!

Dumb mistakes I've made with Facebook ads 🔨 ⬇️ When I used to work in the corporate world I worked with an advertising agency. They told me to optimise for traffic... This is complete BS when you look back. The agency wanted quick results so they looked good and could cover their own arse. Having ran 1000s of ad campaigns now you always, ALWAYS optimise for the results you want. ✅ If you want leads, set the campaign objective for leads. ✅ If you want purchases, set the campaign objective for sales. You need to optimise for what your goal is. When you do Facebook is smart enough to find the 'right' people who will convert. This site is an extremely interesting case. Brand in the finance sector. Destroyed by the HCU update 2023. Backlinks from digital PR (and paid links), albeit some of the digital PR ones are totally off-topic, and some look like paid DPR placements. The site increased its content by 1000 pages in a year, so I suggest that it might have used AI content to scale. The site is well-designed, with lots of E-E-A-T elements. My gut says this site was hit by multiple factors: a bit of waffly content, some link devaluation, and AI content. It looks like they've deleted over 1000 pages a matter of weeks after being hit, so perhaps they took a chance. An interesting case, might reach out to the owners of this one.

Hey #ppc friends, Are you reviewing your ad rank score within your Google ads? Struggling to think of ways to increase this for your B2B client? Here are a some key areas to put some optimisation time into: 1 - Conduct keyword research to find high-performing, relevant keywords from your search term report, DSA or keyword planner. Use long-tail keywords to attract more specific traffic, search volume will be lower but the intent will be a lot better. 2 - Create engaging and relevant ad copy that highlights the main keyword. You can use keyword insertion as a quick tip. Also include CTAs and ad copy from the landing page. 3 - If you have access and the ability to create unique landing pages, this is a must. Make sure your landing pages are user-friendly, relevant to the ad. Most importantly provide a clear path to conversion, making the steps simple and easy. 4 - If your daily budget allows, always review and increase your bids. This can help improve your Ad Rank, especially in highly competitive markets. Set up your columns to include top of page, first page to see the range of bids available. 5 - Review your search term report weekly and add negative keywords to your growing list.
