If you're a new ecom brand and you want to leverage email straight away, do this... 1. Get Klaviyo & sync it to your store 2. Create a popup with an offer for email. 10%, free shipping etc 3. Build a welcome flow with 3/4 emails sharing your offer and letting people know why they should buy from you. Add social proof where you can. 4. Build a 3 email abandoned checkout flow that subtly reminds people to buy and add an offer around email 2-3 5. Don't do anything else until you're at $10k a month in overall sales.

"Not sure who needs to hear this but....." Well you have a problem then. If you're actively trying to use your marketing to generate sales and enquiries then you should 100% know exactly who needs to hear your message. If you're doing SEO to generate enquiries then your website should be speaking directly to your ideal client and their pains and problems. If you're doing PPC to generate enquiries then your landing page should be speaking directly to your ideal client and their pains and problems If you're using social media to generate enquiries then guess what......your content should be speaking directly to your ideal client and their pains and problems. And everything should then be geared to showing how you can be the solution to their problem. I love generating traffic for people. I love getting people to your website at the exact time they are looking to buy the services that you sell. But if your message isn't speaking to those people? Well we have some work to do don't we? Advertising just works - long story short there are more businesses who can benefit from better advertising through digital channels. They just don’t know how to put the systems, resources and people in place to deliver. Techy PPC stuff aside you need to know what your LTV or / AOV is per customer (net) and work on a channel to repeatedly acquire new customers profitably (or even at a small loss if needed). Then steadily grow that channel or add more. Yes channels complement each other but the main thing is Do more and do better. One of our clients wanted to take his offline business - online but with anew brand, new domain 0 customers in a really competitive market. No brand search, previous sales data or repeat customers to bank on. I wanted to share this because as optimistic as I am we had planned to be a little bit behind this at this point(ad spend is relatively small at this early stage). Still have a long long way to go but worth it. In this case we’re using a mix of pmax and standard shopping. I’m not 100% happy and still building. Also Attribution is a bit painful (both inGA4 & in platform) but we know ads are driving sales and are growing month on month. Client is happy so we get to eat our pot noodles next week 😊

SEO or PPC? Speaking to a new potential client this morning who is slap bang in the middle of starting a new business, I was faced with an impossible question. Budget is tight, do I prioritise SEO or PPC? It's always a tough call, but after evaluating the business needs and possible cash flow, we ended up at the tried and tested 1-2 combination. Here’s how I put it to them: 1️⃣ Start with PPC: Use PPC to generate immediate revenue while testing keywords and audience segments. This allows you to gather valuable data quickly, and more importantly, get cash coming in. 2️⃣ Build Your SEO: While PPC is driving traffic, invest in SEO for the same keywords. Gradually improve your organic rankings without sacrificing visibility and improving UX/CPA while you're doing it. 3️⃣ Switch Targets: Once your SEO performance matches or surpasses your PPC results, shift your PPC budget to new keywords or geographies. This keeps your campaigns fresh and broadens your audience reach. 4️⃣ Repeat the Cycle: Continue this process, optimizing and expanding, all while maintaining the same PPC budget until you're ready to grow that too. I know we are lazy... but this still shocks me every time 🤨 That most site visits happen only at above the fold (aka the hero section), before they decide to continue scrolling or click out of your site. And yet most of the hero sections I've seen focus a lot on a catchy tagline or oversized, non-relevant banner images that tells nothing about their business - i.e. what they do, what they offer, etc. 🤔 In the perspective of anew visitor, what I would want to know first and foremost are a. What is your business about? b. How can your offer benefit me? Unless your site's hero section can answer these two questions really well, then I don't think diverting your attention to that WhatsApp widget would be wise at this point in time 🧐
