Kathryn Kelter, Head of Operations for Planned Care at the University Hospitals of North Midlands.   We're thrilled to see the positive impact of University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust mobile endoscopy unit. By delivering diagnostics more timely, the solution eases the pressure on hospital services, helping UHNM meet NHS England's target of eliminating overdue surveillance procedures.    EMS Healthcare’s mobile unit was quickly commissioned and operational within just five weeks, demonstrating the benefits of rapid installation to provide capacity wherever and whenever it's needed most.    The mobile endoscopy solution provided by EMS Healthcare and Medinet features two diagnostic rooms and its own decontamination facility. It is operational seven days a week and aims to facilitate 4,500 appointments, giving patients timely access to essential tests.   Currently, there are over 7.5 million unresolved care pathways affecting an estimated 6.4 million individuals in England, with nearly 4 million pathways contributing to a significant backlog accumulated over the last decade. In an NHS environment, maintaining patient care is crucial, a fully–managed mobile clinical space can provide a valuable alternative to closures, refurbishments and decant of facilities. What if What if we worked collaboratively between NHS E/ Dept of Health/ Department for education to have a Health and Social care cross departmental strategy to evaluate the Positive and proactive impact of multiple pathfinder and family safeguarding models on use and outcomes of CYP services? https://lnkd.in/eBjQgpeF What if our workforce plan trained our amazing social workers in suicide prevention , maternal and paternal family universal level - psychological support. Psychological level interventions to support attachment and psychological safety in families. Parenting support to help families navigate and coach their children through bullying. A known risk to mental health. And a parenting family support route / pathway in Talking therapies What if the joint training plan recconnected our Family therapists, our Psychologists and our very expert family intervention colleagues to provide group supervision and intervention to be trauma sensitive and our colleagues and staff dealing with extreme trauma to also have on tap psychological support. What if we could collaborate to have multiple local authority partners to collaborate and would lead an evaluation and pilot that was already embedded with successful outcomes and we had an evaluation of working in this model from both nhs and social care outcomes. New metrics and this could show and clearly change children and family outcomes and reduce NHS activity? Pre and post metrics of family and individual outcomes. Depression in parents and child mental health scales, incidence of self harm and family cohesion. Measuring the impact of parenting support to reduce the harmful impact of harsh words, conflict and family distress? Does anyone want to help me make it happen? Why. Because our children and families need us and because the cost of mental ill health to Mums, Dads and our kids is huge and to UK plc is astronomical.. 🙏

Why is it that many midwives believe - incorrectly - that those who are not working in NHS clinical midwifery are not practising midwives? 🤔 This disregard for non-NHS clinical midwives spans the profession. At the recent RCM conference, I overheard a midwife joke about a colleague "going over to the dark side" into teaching. When I left my university lecturer role to set up Expectancy, some colleagues wished me well "on my retirement," despite knowing I was about to work harder than ever. Many midwives move into independent practice, offering complementary therapies, antenatal education, lactation support, or tongue-tie division. Maternity care is evolving. Midwives deserve choices in their work, too. The NHS doesn't own you, and charging for professional services is not a crime. Let's respect ALL midwifery colleagues, regardless of where and how they choose to work. Our latest research overturns the outdated notion that general practice nurses merely follow where GPs lead. Instead, it highlights the crucial leadership roles that nurses are playing in primary care across England. 🏥 Key Findings: 💡 Leadership in Care: Nurses are leading programmes in primary care and managing practices, especially in areas covering respiratory conditions and diabetes. 💡 Essential Roles: Beyond patient care, nurses are vital in training and line managing other practice staff. 💡 Untapped Potential: With the right support, nurses could further alleviate the pressures on the NHS by taking on more clinical and non-clinical responsibilities. More action is needed to narrow gaps in care and improve women's health outcomes, according to a recent study. An assessment by the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) highlighted the need for more work around conditions such as endometriosis and poly-cystic ovary syndrome. To understand the impact of the issues identified by the ICB and "learn from lived experience", the Big Conversation initiative was launched last week. In all Kingsgate’s financial recovery work for the NHS, there’s a clear common theme at present. Hospital trusts and wider care systems up and down the country are seeking our specialist support on workforce planning – understanding levels of demand and then deploying the right staff through effective rostering. This process identifies opportunities to make better use of resources and reduce unnecessary spending on overtime or temporary doctors and nurses. It’s an area where we have significant experience and expertise, working with many NHS organisations to help them save very large sums. #NHS #productivity #staffing
