Some useful charts and data in here if you're trying to convince the higher-ups of the value of good, well-planned brand marketing. - "Breakthrough creative" can increase ad effectiveness by a factor of almost 12x (!!) - Core of this is emotion - Interesting to see that online video is so effective - up there with TV - per a Meta study Basically you need to combine smart media planning and great, emotionally resonant ideas. DIFFERENCE MATTERS TO MARKETERS If you've heard that Difference is an out-dated concept, that it doesn't exist, or that all you need to do is to be distinctive - think again. In the UK energy sector, between 2022 and 2023, we found that customer perceptions of Difference predicted 82% of the change in customer numbers. Utility brands that customers felt were very Different showed strong growth. Brands that customers felt lacked Difference all declined. We found the same thing in financial services: customers who felt experiences made a given brand seem more Different were twice as likely to say they had no interest in exploring alternative banking providers.
