They rely on strict controls and micromanagement. But Theory Y managers trust their employees. Empowering them to take ownership and responsibility. Which do you think provides a better outcome? Times aren’t changing. They HAVE changed. Employees are sick of feeling like a cog in the machine. Stop treating them like one.

Thinking of selling your injection moulding business one day? Here’s 5 non-generic tips compared to most “advice” you’ll hear: 1. Be certain you actually want to sell Due diligence can be brutal, and there will be times you’ll need to dig in and stick it out. This will be more bearable if you’ve got a strong “why” for the sale 2. Consider your ideal buyer profile Happy for your business to be absorbed by a Corporate? Prefer it to keep going independently..? Without a deliberate plan you’ll likely waste time and might be given the run around 3. Don’t minimise profits to reduce tax liability Acquirers are buying the future cash flow of the business. It’s a dam sight easier to demonstrate this with actuals rather than stories about what “could” have happened 4. Get a realistic valuation Realistic means it’s indicative of the performance the business generates, which can be backed up with data 5. If you can’t build a trusting relationship with your buyer, walk away You may think it’s just a “transaction” but you’ll work together for months on the deal, and likely have deferred payments over a few years. If you spot red flags during the honeymoon period, imagine what it will be like 2 years from now Bonus pro tip - careful of the brokers who will give you an ego flattering valuation, take £10k to list your company then run off into the sunset. How many social media platforms should you be utilising? Ultimately it comes down to how many you can do but to a quality standard. There is no point having loads of platforms and then not posting often on each because you have spread yourself too thin. Do you want to make more money from your website? I suppose that's a stupid question, of course we do! So if your website is sat there doing nothing and not bringing you in leads and clients then it needs a bit of a shake up! On Monday 9th September I will be running a workshop showing you exactly how to do that. In the morning session that runs from 10-12 we will be delving into what you want your website to do, what your potential clients need your website to do, how you can take them from landing on your website to working with you, how you can get them to your website in the first place and so much more! Then in the afternoon session that runs from half 12 until half 2 it's implementation time, time to map out your action plan, make tweaks on your website, ask questions and get me to take a look at your website and suggest tweaks. It's in Mountain Ash Town Hall and we have had two people move onto the next workshop as they are unable to come so there are now two spaces free (it was sold out!) I met a prospective client who was complaining about not getting any results even though they kept paying monthly billings. I just asked for their GMB and website link. I looked at the GMB; everything looked normal there. Then I went straight to their website and opened 3-4 service pages. Without any other analysis, I could clearly see what the problem was. Well, the problem is, I searched their service names on Google to see the Google-suggested keywords for those specific services. and there are many potential keywords available. but I see none of the service pages are targeting those potential keywords. They just added the title directly without focusing on the keywords suggested by Google, and H titles are almost generic. Long-content, internal links are fine, but all those pages have no keywords that Google suggested for those services. Now tell me, is it really possible when your competitors are already focusing on the best and potential keywords and ranking at the top of the search, and you have no idea what keywords you're focusing on? Even some keywords aren't matching the user intent. So the first thing their SEO provider didn't do was analyze the keywords, and they're doing lots of backlinks, posts, and other activities while keep billing them. The client asked them why they don't see results, and the SEO provider answered: "You have some extra plugins on your website, and you have to remove them; then we will see the result." Holy cow, seriously???? And the client told me that's a very popular company; how can I doubt them? I just told him, someone's popularity isn't going to rank your keywords. Then I just took some screenshots and showed him what I see. Now he understands everything, and hopefully, we will onboard him this week (multi-location client).

Apparently today is #GetToKnowYourCustomersDay This happens on the third Thursday of every quarter according to t'internet! So here's my opinion. Every day should be a 'get to know your customers day!' Why is the suggestion to limit it to 4 days per year 🤣 Anyway, I have three suggestions for getting to know your customers a bit better today - and every day! 1. Look at your online analytics to see who is engaging with your content and work out who your audience is. 2. If you use listening tools such as #AnswerThePublic you can find commonly asked questions people are asking about the property sector, which you can answer in your content to engage with your audience. 2. Ask for feedback and listen! How often do you reach out to past clients and ask them to review your service? ‘Niching down will reduce the number of customers that I can serve’ This is the biggest false belief a Coach can have Let’s try to understand the underlying fear… This means, ⇥ I will have to say ‘no’ to those outside my niche ⇥ The circle of my Ideal Clients will become smaller ⇥ This would lead to a lesser number of enquiries ⇥ This also means losing out on income Now, let’s look at the other perspective… When you say ‘YES’ to everyone, It means you are solving everyone's problem And when you solve everyone's problem — YOU SOLVE NOTHING! Because when you are solving everyone's problem You are competing with a huge section of the crowd. For example… When I say, ‘I do Facebook ads for Coaches’ My competitors will be let's say 100 people (at the max) And out of 100, there are only 3 - 5 who are doing it very well. But when I say, ‘I do digital marketing for every business’ Can you imagine the size of my competition? Here I am will be competing with people like Neil Patel and Russell Brunson! Positioning myself in the first case is way easier than the second one (reason why you should focus on a very small niche when you are just starting out) Another big advantage of niching down is that ↓ You can create a replicable process easily when you are working with similar set of clients You have to focus on ↓ ⇥ creating an ideal client Avatar ⇥ fix a transformation ⇥ fix a particular flow of delivery With lesser efforts, you will be able to create bigger impact.
