SAP has unveiled new functionality with Apple Vision Pro. Here’s how the latest SDK and application developments are reshaping business applications and impacting SAP consultants.😎👇 🍇 AR has been around for a while but is maturing with new applications for business contexts. 👓 The integration of AR with SAP applications offers a more intuitive and engaging user experience, making complex business operations more manageable and visually accessible. 🍏 SAP developers can experiment with the latest SAP BTP SDK for iOS, which enables the creation of native applications specifically for Apple Vision Pro. 🏗️ With the ability to develop bespoke applications via SAP Build Code, SAP developers are set to introduce a wider array of AR-based applications for industrial and commercial sectors: enabling real-time visualizations of logistics processes, immersive data interaction for strategic decision-making, and hands-free access to operational controls and workflow management. 🔗 Philipp Herzig, Chief AI Officer at SAP, said: “The combination of visionOS and generative AI is set to be a force multiplier for our enterprise solutions… Developers can now build native experiences for visionOS, and access enterprise data through SAP Mobile Services running on our SAP Business Technology Platform, thereby allowing the creation of multi-sensory experiences based on SAP data.” 📆 SAP is likely to roll out further releases of SAP modules specifically for use with Vision Pro glasses. SAP Start is already available, providing a gateway to SAP systems through an augmented reality interface. 📊 SAP Analytics Cloud has also been adapted for Apple Vision Pro, allowing businesses to visualize complex data in 3D. 🔄 This ongoing development in the collaboration between SAP and Apple introduces new ways in which business processes can be visualized and managed through AR. For SAP consultants, this means using new tools and technologies, and it is creating new career paths and SAP roles as SAP AR developers. 📈 This evolution in SAP’s technology stack is likely to expand the SAP services market. The integration of spatial computing into existing SAP solutions enables consulting firms to offer AR services that go beyond traditional system implementation and support. 🛠️ SAP developers and consultants need to train for an evolving job landscape where skills in AR application development and management will become regular requirements. ❗ Find a SAP Project Manager for us .. When I try to find for such people, I often hear DIFFERENT information from representatives of consulting companies or end customers of SAP solutions. Believe me, companies often have different understandings of who a SAP Project manager is. The concepts of Project Manager, solution architect and team leader, leading SAP consultant, Pre-sale manager, etc. are often interchanged. I will give examples that I hear from customers: ▪️ "The project manager, who will be the team leader, if it is necessary to act as a senior SAP consultant. Experience as an architect of SAP solutions and experience in core module development - will be a plus, as we will not be hiring many people". ▪️ "A Project manager who will bring all SAP team at once. This is his main task. I will tell him what and how to do (project sponsor)". ▪️ "The Project manager must come and will force our contractor to leave the project, because we are not satisfied with this contractor. He should also bring in a new consulting contractor". ▪️ "A strong SAP Project manager, who can take command of the end customer's department heads. Our client needs to be afraid of him". ▪️ "The main task of the SAP Project manager for the first 3 months is to sell another SAP solution to the client and get our consultants". ▪️ "SAP Project manager with good sales experience of SAP consulting services, licenses and technical pre-sale experience". ▪️ "SAP Project manager with acquaintances. His task is to promote our company's brand among the industry and sell this SAP solution". ▪️ "Olena, this candidate is too proper, values standards and methodologies very much. He will start correcting all our rules and principles of work. We are not ready to change something that we have been creating for years". ▪️ "I am a project sponsor. I don't want to listen to anything at all. Does he get money? Will he create the team himself? Does he know the task? Let him do what he wants, but that the project should be handed in on time. The main thing is that he does not disturb me! I have 4 more companies - not before that. We have the head of the IT department sitting there, let him decide everything...". ❇️ I hope this gives you an understanding of how different companies can view this position. Much depends on the experience and knowledge of the project sponsor, business owners and other responsible persons, as well as on the scale of the business. I often help the company understand what it are wants. 🚨 Attention 🚨 SAP has set a crucial 2027 deadline to move off its ECC ERP system before mainstream support ends, with extended support available until 2030. However, many users fear they won't meet this timeline. DSAG chairman Jens Hungershausen emphasizes the urgency: companies must start their migration to S/4HANA now to avoid disruption. AI is huge and beneficial, and many SAP colleagues might be unaware that we have been using AI components for a long. For example, Heuristics in IBP, and VSR optimizer. Here are a few of the AI use cases I have worked on in the past and their realised benefits. Let me know if you can relate and anything to add.

Here is an illustration on SAP contracting rates and what we have seen from 2021 ✅ There was a spike in rates throughout 2021, 22 and 23 due to the demand ✅During 2023 as vacancies and the demand declined so did contracting rates ✅ 2024 has seen a slight % increase however we are still not at the 2022 levels
