In 2024 the Australian Privacy Act is due for an overhaul - and soon Australian Websites will need to roll cookie Consent out for Australian users too. Zero acquisition cost = ZAC Sadly in this day and age ZAC (this is a made up term btw) within most industries is pretty much non-existent (there are very few edge cases). HOWEVER What about if Amazon are paying for your Google ads? Literally the dream if you’re in Ecommerce. Well, it’s not quite as hard as you think. It took us around a year to get Amazon bidding on our ideal bottom of the funnel key terms: Example attached: ”Biotin Supplement” How did we get Amazon to spend their $ on our little brand Amazon FBA brand? ✔️ Top 10 in category ✔️ High conversion rate product (we currently convert at 38%), the average is around 10-15% ✔️ Amazon Choice badge As I mentioned earlier there is no ZAC - we had to fund the original meta ads, Google ads etc. to our listing to drive conversions, which drove repeat customers (improves conv rate). However once you’ve built this flywheel, not only do you rank well organically on Amazon but you COULD end up with Amazon spending their marketing dollars on Google for your product = win win. We’re not 100% sure what triggers Amazon to spend on your product on Google and this is anecdotal to our product, but this is what worked for us!!

How will OpenAI’s release of SearchGPT impact the world of SEO? From my research there seems to be a shift away from keywords to intent, meaning contextual relevance could become more important than keyword optimisation. This will mean producing high quality content. It could also change how people search for information, with people selecting SearchGPT over Google (avoiding ads). This site is an extremely interesting case. Brand in the finance sector. Destroyed by the HCU update 2023. Backlinks from digital PR (and paid links), albeit some of the digital PR ones are totally off-topic, and some look like paid DPR placements. The site increased its content by 1000 pages in a year, so I suggest that it might have used AI content to scale. The site is well-designed, with lots of E-E-A-T elements. My gut says this site was hit by multiple factors: a bit of waffly content, some link devaluation, and AI content. It looks like they've deleted over 1000 pages a matter of weeks after being hit, so perhaps they took a chance. An interesting case, might reach out to the owners of this one.

Test, monitor, refine, tweak, monitor, refine etc. If performing badly, delete and start over. How We Surpassed Client KPIs set by over 370% 📈 We've been working with Connectus Utilities for just over 6 months, supporting with Google Ads and the results have been 🔥🔥🔥 Prior to coming on board with us, they'd not ran any PPC for their Connectus site before, so were entering unchartered territory. We're playing about with the formats for #brightonSEO in the UK this October and wanted to get some feedback on topics and the ideas in general. *Roundtables* - we've run these for a few years focussed around sector and job title, like agency owner, in-house ecommerce, agency head of SEO etc, there's usually about 12 people informal discussions. - Any ideas for topics for these you'd like to attend? - Do you like roundtables as a format? - What makes for a good roundtable? *Masterclasses* - a new thing, thinking about a 60-90 minutes slot, about 20-30 attendees, more in-depth and interactive than our usual conference talks. Aimed at more experienced attendees, more discussion, maybe more "laptop open and try thing thing" Might be topics like agency growth masterclass, paid media for ecommerce masterclass, Google tag manager debugging masterclass etc Would this be a format you'd be interested in attending? ❌ My direct traffic is far too high ❌ My unassigned traffic source is crazy this month ❌ PPC isn't recording enough in GA4 ❌ consent mode isn't working properly ❌ I don't trust my data This isn't GA4 being 'rubbish', this is all down to configuration. So much hate for GA4 when the reality is a lot of the data going in has been configured by unqualified agencies and 'consultants'.
