Thought for the day - TDD? BDD? WTH?! Arguably the key to delivering QUALITY integration solutions at PACE is some kind of Test or Behavioural Driven Development with automation. Moving away from testing as a phase and embedding it into the development process changes the way we think about the solution, focusing on the 'why' and desired behaviours and outcomes from the outset. All lovely in theory but perhaps a bit more tricky to move towards in practice? I was very lucky to work with Bernard at University of Surrey, a pioneer in Azure Integration QA! 🙂 Checkout his post below on the testing framework he built for our Azure based Integration Platform. Admittedly he achieved most of this after I left but I like to think I played a small part! 😂

When a new trend hits that isn't well defined then software providers leap to brand their technology as part of that. Back in the SOA days this had legacy integration vendors slapping ESB stickers on it quicker than David Chappell could print copies of his book. In 2025 this will happen with "Agentic" or "Agent AI", rules vendors, workflow tools, package vendors and more will all be claiming they are in fact Agentic AI. Well put Nick Morgan. To me, the first step is awareness that ongoing investment in technology is necessary in the tech-fuelled businesses of today. The second as you've laid out is to marry business objectives, time/budget constraints and desired outcomes.
