    Science and Technology

I set up and ran the first paediatric microbiome conference at the UCL Institute of Child's Health with Lily Gates, called 'Perturbations in the Microbiome and Clinical Outcome in Paediatric Disease’, which took place on the 16th July. My role involved recruiting speakers from academia and industry, marketing the event and organising further sponsorship to make the free event a success!

Projects

  • Algal Data Analyser

In collaboration with a programmer, Tom Brooks, I developed Algal Data Analyser (ADA), a software for rapidly plotting and analysing microalgal growth curves. We presented this software at the Festival of Algae organised by Algae-UK in 2021, published it in Applied Phycology (see publications section) and also supported new learners with our YouTube channel (Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN5YtDhGqRBfPnk--78lsAQ).

ADA is being used internationally by researchers in world leading labs, and new releases and instructional videos are continually produced upon requests by users.
