I never trust the obvious. Online narratives can be quite complex, so I take everything with a pinch of salt and always challenge assumptions. Before I started the agency, I spent my entire career on the client side, in B2C businesses, in iGaming industry which is very mobile-first. I spent a lot of time at Google educations where the focus was always strictly mobile-first. When we started building KARAMAN Digital's website, I was very focused on the mobile version and challenged the team to ensure everything worked and looked great on mobile. We finished the website, launched it, and BOOM, 90% of traffic was desktop, and it’s been consistent for nearly two years. Luckily, Stjepan built a beautiful website that looks good on both desktop and mobile, but this could have ended much worse for us. Our first step when onboarding a new partner or client is to review their reports in detail, check the attribution across advertising platforms vs their backend, align KPI definitions and analyze the data before asking anything or kicking off actions. We never trust the obvious, and we never trust assumptions. #MobileFirst #DataDriven

Once dominated by the financial industry, we continue to see further investment in local sports by companies within the betting industry. Sponsorships have always been an effective marketing tactic, but more so the money provided continues to support the growth of local sports and the development of local talent. Lets hope the investment continues all the way to grass routes enabling SA to produce even more world class sports stars. Well done Betway. I went to the horse riding lesson today. 🏇 Here's what it taught me about iGaming: Dealing with the iGaming market as a young operator is akin to learning how to ride a horse: Newbies struggle to develop their balance, confidence, and control. Fresh adepts also require adapting to unexpected movements, and they gradually build skills through experience. P.S. Not everything has to be a perfect analogy. Perhaps it would be sensible if this Labour Government reviewed existing Government spending first before making any potential drastic remote gaming duty/RGD increases. This will impact safer gambling initiatives as operators naturally will look at reducing compliance solution spend and I am sure we will see some of the largest operators moving their HQ overseas. Localization for Brazil 🇧🇷 Mistakes I've Made and Seen A brilliant post about localization inspired me to share my experience. I’ll be talking about mistakes in product and sales localization for the Brazilian market. 😝 Language I know of a company that hired support from Portugal to work with Brazil. After all, they share the same language—Portuguese, right? The Portuguese spoken in these two countries differs significantly. Users were outraged by what they perceived as a lack of respect towards them. 🤝 Communication Style Brazilians value friendliness and positivity, so the tone of client interactions needs to reflect that. Using casual terms like "amigo" or "brother," along with emojis and warm wishes, can help establish rapport. 📣 Format for Presenting Ideas In Brazil, voice messages are a key part of communication culture. If you want your message to be heard, opt for audio over text. Messages longer than five words in text often go unnoticed. After implementing points 2 and 3, the conversion rate to the first deposit (first purchase) increased by around 20%. 🇧🇷 Colors Brazilians are proud of their flag and its colors, and these color combinations evoke positive emotions rather than governmental associations. While companies may hesitate to use them out of fear of appearing cliché, they are, in fact, powerful for promotional materials, pitch decks, and websites. 💳 Payment Methods PIX is the main payment method and must be included. I’ve seen casino websites entering the Brazilian market that only offered PIX. Why is this a mistake, even though PIX is the primary payment method? Because the absence of boleto, PayPal, and credit card options raises suspicion. While these channels are less popular, simply offering them increases the company’s trustworthiness. And important insight for those who made it this far: Brazil is vast and diverse. Each state has its own unique characteristics and symbols. By tailoring user interactions, promotions, and products to specific states, you can enhance engagement and better connect with your audience.
