Lose Composure Under Pressure 5. Unique and excellent insights on AI from Dr Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic at the excellent CHRO Summit from Working Futures in Geneva today. Really nuanced and critical look at our preconceptions, expectations and fears around AI. Your people are your most valuable asset when it comes to organisational performance and profit... Leaders frequently dedicate significant time in boardrooms to analyzing key performance indicators, evaluating top and bottom lines, assessing profit margins, and strategising revenue generation. They are also consistently involved in exercises aimed at optimising costs and enhancing efficiency. The bigger question is... how often do we sit and discuss the possible costs/gains of a culture? Gallup study this forensically and we know the key business outcomes that benefit from a positive culture and the data tells us that a healthy organisational culture accelerates organic financial growth. However, the cost of not spending time studying your culture and measuring the current state is eye-watering. Fines of $380,000 could be incurred when organisations do not have risk measurement and actions in place to protect the working environment. Directors also have personal liability to ensure the safety of their workforce. NSW Government, WHS & Safe Work Australia are highlighting codes of practice around this, to drive change in behaviours and policies in organisations to eliminate pyshosocial hazards. An interesting paper from the HR consulting firm Mercer suggests that we have entered the fifth industrial age - The Cognitive Age - thanks to #AI. Mercer sees HR's role in this new age as the "Stewards of Humanity, " whose mandate will focus on "doing good to improve the human condition." I'm all in on improving the human condition. But this seems to be a pretty broad and challenging mandate. For history buffs, the paper includes excellent and short descriptions of the prior industrial ages.

Before diving in, I usually pose two critical questions: 1️⃣ Why do you believe it’s the right time to implement this model? 2️⃣ How do you know it’s the right model for you? https://aihr.ac/3ANws3V ← In my latest article, I explore key signs that indicate it might be time to consider the HRBP model for your organization, and I outline essential criteria to assess your readiness. Here’s a sneak peek into the key indicators: • Business complexity and size: Does your organization’s scale demand a more sophisticated HR approach? • Increased demands from business: Are they feeling the pain and expecting more from HR? • Leadership buy-in: Are your leaders committed to a strategic HR transformation? • Investment readiness: Is your organization willing to invest in HR in the short term? • Openness to change: Is your HR team ready to embrace a new way of working? But let’s be realistic—the HRBP model isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution.
