If you're a new ecom brand and you want to leverage email straight away, do this... 1. Get Klaviyo & sync it to your store 2. Create a popup with an offer for email. 10%, free shipping etc 3. Build a welcome flow with 3/4 emails sharing your offer and letting people know why they should buy from you. Add social proof where you can. 4. Build a 3 email abandoned checkout flow that subtly reminds people to buy and add an offer around email 2-3 5. Don't do anything else until you're at $10k a month in overall sales.

💻 SEO Wednesdays - Week 27 July 3rd 🖥 Making SEO sexy exciting ongoing fun...... This week I want to talk about Google Page Speed Insights a FREE and wonderful tool you can use to test your website's speed and overall functionality. It tests both the mobile version 📱 of your website and desktop 🖥 Anyone with a website should use it! There are a host of other similar tools but I find this one from Google is the most accurate so best to use. As with any tool, there are YouTube videos and articles online that further explain how to use it but it is a pretty straightforward tool to use. Any errors you get you want to fix ASAP or get your website designer or developer to fix them for you. Have a bit of a play with it today and see how you go and make sure your website loads within 2-3 seconds both on your mobile 📱 & desktop 🖥 Speed is a major algorithm ranking factor that can't be ignored. SEO or PPC? Speaking to a new potential client this morning who is slap bang in the middle of starting a new business, I was faced with an impossible question. Budget is tight, do I prioritise SEO or PPC? It's always a tough call, but after evaluating the business needs and possible cash flow, we ended up at the tried and tested 1-2 combination. Here’s how I put it to them: 1️⃣ Start with PPC: Use PPC to generate immediate revenue while testing keywords and audience segments. This allows you to gather valuable data quickly, and more importantly, get cash coming in. 2️⃣ Build Your SEO: While PPC is driving traffic, invest in SEO for the same keywords. Gradually improve your organic rankings without sacrificing visibility and improving UX/CPA while you're doing it. 3️⃣ Switch Targets: Once your SEO performance matches or surpasses your PPC results, shift your PPC budget to new keywords or geographies. This keeps your campaigns fresh and broadens your audience reach. 4️⃣ Repeat the Cycle: Continue this process, optimizing and expanding, all while maintaining the same PPC budget until you're ready to grow that too. It's not the first choice, for sure, but still a great one!

It's super interesting to see that sites impacted by HCU can actually rank quite well in ChatGPT Search. However, it's not all great news. I tested a bunch of queries and found that in every case that an HCU site was showing, the answer the searcher was looking for was essentially provided by ChatGPT with little reason to click on the websites.
