How to LOWER your success in applications: Giving multiple agents authorisation to send your CV to the same firms👎🏽💩👎🏽 Imagine the annoyance the firms feel when they've wasted minutes in their busy day to open and receive 3 separate outreaches from 3 separate agents on your behalf, and have to spend even more time to respond to each to say "we have received these details via another agent". Aside from an annoyance, it then creates a dispute between agents as to who will get the recruitment fee, which the firm in question will also be tied to the dispute, and sometimes it can go to court! This is why I always say it reflects poorly on the candidate to do this, and not the agent (who have all also spent times out of their day to discuss the role and firm, write up an overview of your experience, and reach out to the client). So you're a 350mm AUM team with a Broker-Dealer and you want to monetize with a market-high transition deal....3 things you need to know 👇. 1. Deals at the top of the market are almost double what they were 18 months ago (typically topping out around 100bps on AUM in the IBD space). 2. Deals vary heavily between firms. Typically the larger and more well-capitalized the firm, the better the upfront deal. 3. Transition deals typically do not include off platform assets (403Bs, or held-away assets with SEI, Assetmark... etc.) A word of warning here....A 6 or 7-figure transition deal feels awesome....but the excitement wears off quickly. Are you considering multiple offers from brokers currently? Are you a bit stuck in the middle around your potential new role? 🫨 Having a couple of offers can be quite flattering, but if they're of a similar capacity, it can be a bit of a mind-boggler to decide whats what. 😬 Here are a few questions to consider if you're stuck: Get rid of the cash aspect - if they all offered the same remuneration, what one gets you more excited? Long-term potential, or somewhere you're going to thrive? 💰 Have you asked your ma - I personally always ring my mum, because she always tells me exactly how it is, whether its what I want to do or not it provides a completely different opinion. (Other family members are available) 👩‍👧‍👦 How did you feel Post-Interview - Which firm did you walk out of and think, yes I could absolutely work there, because we are taught to go with our gut instinct, right? 🫃 Has anyone experienced a similar situation recently? Things to look out for if buying a new build 🤔 🏠 Will the bank accept my deposit? Some lenders require 10% or higher on a new build 🏠 Has the lender done too many mortgages on this development? Something to check before applying 🏠 Do I need a snagging report? 🏠 Are there any service or estate charges? 🏠 Is the mortgage product I have gone for suitable for a new build? Some products are only for non-new properties 🏠 Typically you may be told it will be faster to use the in house solicitors and mortgage advisor, this is not the case, your application will not be processed any faster because you’re using the in house team

1 common mistake when applying for mortgages - moving the deposit money into one account. Lenders want to see where the money originated, so transferring it between accounts can lead to having to provide multiple bank statements. 💥The Transition from HELL💥…Whether you're a lifer or seriously considering a move...Consider this a master class on what not to do. 👇 2 advisor team, 200mm in AUM exiting a regional firm for another Broker-Dealer. 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 - They were incredibly rude to their transition team. 𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘦 - You want people to bend over backwards for you during the most important time period of your business life....𝘉𝘦 𝘕𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 - They refused to pay for a public database to get client information they were missing...which was like $200 a year. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 - They were loose lipped about their move with their colleagues, which lead to uncomfortable conversations with management as well as other advisors salivating to poach their clients when they moved. 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 - Duplicating client signatures when additional documentation was required instead of going back to the client...(I'm no compliance expert but I hear this is a no-no). The worst part here is each of these issues is easily preventable. Here's the dirty secret. Even the best planned transitions are imperfect...but causing self-inflected wounds during the process is the quickest way to ensure the train runs off the tracks.
