Hiring managers and agency owners in the creative space - I gotta talk to you.... Have you noticed a decrease in the number of quality job applications your business is getting for roles? If the answer was yes, there may be a specific reason that people aren't applying for your jobs (if the answer is no, go off queen good for you!). I speak to A LOT of candidates every week, so know first hand what puts people off applying for roles, meaning there are less candidates for you to choose from. But alas, never fear, with some adjustments you can broaden the appeal of your company and the role to potential applicants. The adjustments: ⚡ Hybrid working is where it's at 4-5 days in the office is an application killer. Unless they physically can't do their job unless they're onsite, candidates don't want to be in the office that often. Most candidates are happy to go into the office 2-3 days a week for collaborating and team bonding ⚡Be realistic with your JD It's more common these days for businesses to merge multiple roles and expect one person to be able to do it and deliver solid outcomes, flawlessly. Candidates don't want to be worked to the bone trying to reach unrealistic business expectations, so keep that in mind ⚡Talk up your culture, purpose and values The purpose behind a brand really makes candidates want to apply for a role. What they do, what they stand for and what they believe in is super important so really make it known and showcase the good stuff! ⚡You need to do some headhunting Candidates might need to be actively targeted, so depending on what area you're trying to hire for, if a talent specialises in a high demand area, they're going to need a friggen good reason to leave a job they're happy at to join your company ⚡Have a salary based on market rate With the rising cost of living, remuneration is a much larger factor in a candidate's decision than it may be previously been.
