After 14 incredible years, it’s time for a new chapter. The people I've met along the way—there are far too many to mention—have made this experience unforgettable. Thank you to Jack Benjamin at The Media Leader UK for the opportunity to discuss the impact AI is already having on publishers and what will likely be the next obstacle the industry will be forced to face. Most people have been focused on the impact AI will have on SERP pages (rightfully so) but my major concern is for publishers that have invested a significant amount of time and resources in building email lists as their most direct line of communication with their audience. As Jack notes in the piece - Apple and Google combined, control 83% of email clients so their decision to distill email content using AI means further depressed open rates, waning CTR and limited revenue opportunities as those two metrics decline. At Subtext we've been at the forefront of empowering our clients to actually own a direct line of communication with their audience free from the big tech intermediaries and we'll continue to do so as the industry braces for its "post-email" era. Playing around with a workflow using Clay to help target Ecom brands running ads. Using Rapid API and n8n to pull FB ads data and pull the ad creative being used. Then using GPT to analyse the image and output ideas based on how it could improve the ad creative (still testing outputs). All automatically - build the workflow once and then run it to automate massive amounts of research you would have otherwise had to conduct - then spend your time actually selling.
