**Key Market Insights** **VC Investment** Some great commentary from Patrick Molyneux of KPMG | Acceleris at the Lancashire Digital Hub event on Friday, outlining VC investment over the first quarter of 2024. AI & ML is still front and central in tech, with 10 of 24 global unicorns sitting in the field. Huge investment has been seen in Cleantech, with regulations dictating necessity for products. The re-emergence of Crypto & Blockchain (5 of 24 global unicorns), with Blockchain tech being adopted in to antiquated/legacy industries. B2B and SaaS products are still sitting top of the tree when it comes to investment. The UK stands to gain 500'000'000'000 GBP from embracing AI, within the next *10 years* - based on a report from Microsoft and Public First. That's almost 2.5% of the entire economy during that period. If that's not a number that makes you pay attention, I don't know what will. But I'm afraid we're nowhere near being able to talk about it rationally. With all the noise, scams, and marketing, it's hard not to dismiss it all as hype. But it isn't. And if we don't prepare more people for what's coming, we risk them being confronted with it too late—too late to do anything about it. With a general election around the corner, we need a serious solution to this problem—a discussion forum people can trust to understand what's about to happen—not just in the UK but all over the world.
