Who would want to be a non billing Manager in this market? I was speaking to a Recruitment Consultant this morning who is looking to move into a non billing Manager role. They said they are sick of the sales side of recruitment and wanted a more "strategic" role. I tried to explain that there are very few positions like this available at the moment and that the non billing Manager is normally the first person to be laid off in a tough economy. I don't believe a good Recruiter ever loses the desire to make a new connection, uncover a new lead and to make a placement with a new client. The desire to help a client build their business and to place a candidate into their dream job, that's what keeps me motivated (and the financial reward for a job well done). Be careful what you wish for, a non billing Manager is usually in the first round of redundancies.

As expected, both temporary and permanent placements decreased again in November 2024. At the same time, continued redundancies means that there are more candidates available to place. A few recruiters have mentioned that they’ve seen hiring take a positive turn so far in December, and ideally, this continues into the new year when hiring is more likely to pick up. No clear sign of what’s to come but one thing is clear: Sourcing and nurturing candidates ahead of time can only improve your chances of placing them once hiring starts to pick up. Following bleak recruitment performace in June, there has been a resurgence of job creation, adverts being posted, and placements being made in July. TL;DR🚀: - The total volume of placements increased by 34%. - Temporary & contract placements increased by 40%. - Permanent placements increased by 11%.  - Revenue per recruiter increased by 49% against a slow June. Black Friday sales have me thinking about recruitment fees and the psychology behind our negotiations. Here at Avani Group, we have set rates in place for each service offering and they vary depending on how the client prefers to operate. → Contingent → Exclusive → Retained I won't post our fees publicly but let's take 20% as an example... How many of us drop to 18% during negotiations and forget all about 19%? How many of us actually understand or consider the dollar value behind the fees we negotiate? On a $180,000 package, the difference between a 20% fee and a 16% fee is $7,200. That $7,200 isn't a 4% discount, it's a 20% discount. Don't know about you, but I'd take a 20% discount over 4% any day 💰 #recruitment #blackfriday #sales
