Is PMI the new CIC? And are there too many TLAs in our world? Thought-provoking insights from Cameron Roberts and experts about the demise of our public health sector and relationship with PMI demand. There's no overnight fix to the state and performance of the NHS, and if it ever recovers, there's the important matter of choice that PMI offers. I agree with Kyle Godden that we may (and should) end up with a three tier system, there is certainly room and need for lower-cost, more targeted PMI solutions (focusing on diagnostics and core benefits). But this also highlights the importance of advice for PMI too - with so many choices and the beartaps of moratoriums - there's a strong case for an advised broker model vs direct insurer. I wasn't able to give my talk "Cultivating Empathy - The Secret Sauce to Agile Success" at Lean Agile London this year for personal reasons. But that didn't stop Ben Maynard and I discussing the talk on the Product Agility Podcast. Empathy is something I feel strongly about. It's key to fruitful relationships - both personal and professional. I’ve been passionate about A.I. for years, and its continuous evolution never stops to amaze and excite me. Last month, #MiltonKeynes hosted its A.I. Festival, showcasing the incredible impact artificial intelligence is having across every aspect of life. Do you fancy having a butler, a cleaner, a chauffeur, an assistant and a carer? Artificial Intelligence meets robotics is making all of the above possible. Along with a Citi team and external expert contributors, I enjoyed looking at the many areas in which AI-robots could be useful to us going forward. We then tried to dimension how many AI-robots could be moving around us. Our conclusion was a lot. Over 4bn by 2050. One of the other surprises was how short some of the payback periods could be, with implications for the world of work. For more, please find the full report in the link below. It's a sad state of affairs when blame culture overrides innovation. We've all been there at one time or another - putting your head above the parapet to advocate for a great new product or a better customer experience. I've been very fortunate to work with supportive forward-thinking leaders who have taken a balanced view of risk vs reward in the pursuit of delivering for the customer (and the business). Clearly, our research shows that most innovation leaders aren't that fortunate, so they need a way of de-risking innovation. Perhaps SaaScada can help?

Insightful discussion today with Amanda Peck - SVP, McGraw-Hill, Andy McClure - Marketing & Proposition Director, AXA Health, Pragya Mohan - Digital Transformation Lead, EY, Sam Winterson - Innovation Consulting Director, Salesforce and Tania Rotheram - Digital Workplace & Transformation Director, Burberry on the GDS Meet the Boss Round table on "AI-Driven Creativity: The Future of Marketing"   According to Goldman Sachs, generative AI could drive a 7% (c. $7 trillion) increase in global GDP and lift productivity growth by 1.5% points over the next ten years. Clearly, AI is important, and the role of AI is quite significant. However, as we highlight the benefits of AI in Marketing especially around democratising knowledge, increasing accessibility and enhancing customer engagement all of which will drive increase in revenue growth. It is important to put guardrails in place in terms of data privacy, use of proprietary information and data security. Businesses are largely optimistic about the next 12 months, with technology central to growth ambitions, according to HSBC UK's fourth annual Capex Report. The survey of 1,583 businesses showed that two thirds of firms have growth ambitions, up from 64% last year, with more than a fifth (22%) looking to grow by at least 20%. Two thirds of tech leaders (72%) said they felt optimistic about the next 12 months, which is 17% higher than market average. This naturally feeds into ambitions, with 81% of technology businesses expecting to grow this year, and 34% looking for significant growth. Read more:

As part of the #SantanderWomenInBusiness Development programme, module 1 focused on Confidence. I have always considered myself fairly confident, however both life and professional changes have seemingly impacted this. Imposter syndrome is a battle, as is learning to juggle commitments without spreading myself too thin – both of which I still need to work on. As part of this module, I completed a Linked In learning course focusing on Confidence. The speaker stated that genuine confidence is when you turn up as your whole self. This really struck me and is something I need to remember - just be my authentic self, try not to overthink things and maybe the confidence will return. #BeKindToYourself

When making improvements to your processes, get those that do the work fully involved. Get commitment from their boss for their time to examine live work and reflect. We did this and a colleague came up with changes that reduced steps and handoffs by 25% overnight. Tested and trialled and IT supporting changes documented. Us managers sitting round a table rarely see what really goes on. Therefore we don't know the best changes to make. We can then fall into the traps of missing unintended consequences, putting IT change in first without correctly framing the problems, doing the 'right thing wronger', and also not getting engagement from those that matter. Those that speak to customers and clients everyday. Try it and you'll see it work - you'll be blown away.
