Why do role models matter? 🤔 I did a mentoring session this week and was reminded of the power that I had as a role model 🙋🏽‍♀️ I have come to realise that there is immense power in seeing people who look like you in leadership roles and seated at the decision-making table. I strongly believe that having equitable representation helps everyone! 🫶🏽 I personally strive to inspire and support others to be motivated to achieve more, take risks, and succeed in reaching their goals. But in my experience, women and people from underrepresented groups will often face many barriers to accessing opportunities for growth and development. Having access to good role-models and mentors can be a game changer and the difference between career success and failure 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 So take a moment to consider if you are a role model to someone else? If you aren't, have you thought about how you could positively support somebody else who might be looking at you and seeing themselves in your actions or behaviors?
