My inbox brought an intriguing update from The Media Leader UK today. The latest news highlighted a significant digital revenue challenge faced by Reach plc in the past year, with a 16% slump attributed to changes in #Facebook algorithms impacting online page views. Notably, Reach plc introduced page view targets in 2022, aiming for up to 70% increases in online page views for some journalists by year-end. Industry insights would be valuable on this topic. Testing, testing, is this thing on? Am I doing this right? Okay, I’m not new here, I’ve been lurking on the platform for some time, but it’s taken me until now to post - I’ve absolutely no excuse, it’s just not really something that comes that easily to me, which is funny because I love a chat. So what am I here to say? Oh just that I’m thoroughly enjoying my new(ish) role at amiiigos as Head of Client Experience. For the last (almost) five months, I’ve had the complete pleasure of being fully immersed into the (largely crisp-based) amazing amiiigos culture and getting to know their incredible clients. Coming from a bigger agency, it’s fair to say I definitely craved more of a ‘smaller agency’ vibe, but whilst the amiiigos may well be smaller in comparison in terms of our core team (of which I’m so happy to finally be a part of), the work we do is in no way small. The creative work we do at amiiigos - everything from producing awesome shoots to developing beautiful branding - is something I am so, so proud of. What I find most impressive is how agile we are when it comes to working with brands of all shapes and sizes, and from chatting to clients I know this to be something they hugely appreciate. (‘Agile’ also happens to be one of our brand values.) We really do everything we can to help brands with little resource think big and punch well above their weight, with creative thinking and our super flexible approach. There are some HUGE things in the pipeline that I look forward to sharing with you over the coming weeks and months, but for now I wanted to share a recent testimonial we received, which I think helps sums up our team here: “I’m always impressed by the creativity the amiiigos team brings to the table. I’ve decided to create a Digital Marketing Advent Calendar and turn crass, mass-commercialism into something actually worthwhile (lol). Yesterday the DMA (Data & Marketing Association) UK launched its Value of Measurement 2024 Report, which I’ve had the pleasure of working with them on to shape & finalise along with the rest of the Measurement Taskforce. We all know that once we’ve done the hard work of securing budget for marketing activity, it is imperative that we can report back to the board what this investment has returned. The methodology of marketing measurement MUST be defined up front – how will you do it, what are the measures of success etc. For example, the board do not want to hear about open rates since these are KPIs and not the language of the board room. The board DOES want to hear about return on investment, incremental revenue and profit as these are business effects. Things like open rates are of course fine to track as KPIs to see trends over time.
