About us
Volution is a UK-based VC firm that backs companies tackling the productivity challenge in capital markets and enterprise solutions - leveraging emerging transformational technologies including AI, Machine Learning and Blockchain. We make initial investments post-Series A, in companies that need additional runway to reach Series B or Series C. Our team of experienced investors, former operators and tech founders provides ambitious entrepreneurs with the capital, as well as the operational support and expertise to accelerate their growth to Series B and beyond. Our innovative Portfolio Carry Scheme aligns our investments with our values, incentivising CEOs to deliver best practice across Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) pillars and encouraging responsible and sustainable growth across our portfolio. We have invested in some of the UK’s most exciting SaaS and Fintech companies including Zopa, Cognism, Signal AI, Flagstone and Wrisk. If you’d like to get to know us better, please follow our LinkedIn page and get in touch with a member of our team.

✅ Some very relevant and well thought through updates have been made to the ESG_VC Measurement Framework for 2025, designed to be more concise, better aligned with other frameworks and more practical for both companies and investors. 🌐 At Volution, we will be distributing this updated framework to our portfolio companies to help them assess their performance against internal and industry benchmarks. 🔗 Check the link to the recent webinar in the comments below if you’d like to learn more.
✍️ Yesterday, we launched the revised ESG_VC Measurement Framework for 2025 - so I thought I'd share an insight into what's changed... ✍️ Emily Havers has been leading the charge on this year's updates, so I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to her for starters. We carry out annual updates to the ESG_VC framework, so that we can respond to feedback from users, keep pace with the evolving regulatory landscape, and align wherever we can with other industry standards such as Invest Europe's reporting template and the ESG Data Convergence Initiative metrics. So, what's changed for this year in our framework? ⌛ First off, it's shorter - less time for companies spent reporting and more time spent creating value through ESG is our number one objective. 🔗 We've separated out our supply chain metrics to make it easier for companies to spot questions that are material to them. ✍️ We've begun to ask companies to provide evidence wherever they can - ensuring that policies have substance. 📝 A new policy dropdown will help portfolio companies to quickly identify the policies they have - and the ones that they're missing. 👥 We've made some changes to the diversity data that we capture - our members have asked for more data on founder diversity, while we've reduced the breadth of data points captured to ensure we're only asking for data that is material to early-stage companies. For anyone interested in learning more, I've linked our webinar explaining the updates in the comments. And you can download the framework yourself at www.esgvc.co.uk #ESG_VC #sustainability #data

Thank you to members of the FinTech and VC community and Parliamentarians who joined us yesterday for a great discussion on Access to Capital and Markets. 💷 📈 Key takeaways include: - Women-led start-ups are hugely under-represented in funding and more must be done to meet the needs of women founders - The UK remains a leader at supporting start-up companies, but a gap in funding for scale-ups is a growing concern - Upcoming pension reforms have the potential to unlock further capital for FinTech in the UK Thank you also to Volution and TrueLayer for two great presentations to the Group on the challenges and opportunities they are seeing in the current funding environment. This marks the first meeting of the Group since its re-establishment and we look forward to many more great conversations with UK #FinTech! 🇬🇧 Luke Charters Samantha Niblett MP Innovate Finance

Thank you to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on FinTech and Innovate Finance for having me come and present today on the challenges faced by UK FinTechs as they attempt scale to Growth. The UK is a hotbed of FinTech innovation, internationally envied and we need to ensure that we have a fully functioning venture ecosystem that can support them on that journey. Great discussion and debate in the room on how best to achieve that. Luke Charters, Samantha Niblett MP, Lord Iain McNicol, Lord Ed Vaizey, Thin Chambers Janine Hirt

💫 2024 has been a busy year for Volution Portfolio Company Wrisk. With fantastic new partnerships, new offices, new hires and a listing as one of the top 15 companies redefining the automotive industry, there's a lot to be excited about! 🚀 Niall Barton Nimeshh Patel
If you've been keeping up with our news then you'll know that 2024 has been a particularly busy time for Wrisk. We've entered partnerships with Jaguar Land Rover UK, Volvo Cars and Helvetia Global Solutions Ltd, onboarded 30+ new colleagues and moved to bigger offices in the heart of Shoreditch's tech cluster. Lot's more has been going on behind the scenes and we're set for an even brighter - and busier - 2025. With a strong vision in place, rolled out by a brilliant exec team, our global footprint is set to expand - watch this space! We're at an amazing place in both the tech and insurance spaces, where there are many digital developments that are truly enhancing the sector. We predict this will only continue - and have our own pipeline of developments to add. In the meantime, we're taking a nice moment of reflection. Recently Insurtech Insights named us one of the top 15 companies redefining automotive insurance, and we're proud to be recognised by industry peers and sit alongside some of the best in the industry. https://lnkd.in/ev7qJACD
