We’re giving free O2 mobile data to those struggling to get online ❄️📱     📺 Our Christmas ad launches today shining a light on data poverty in the UK and our National Databank initiative with Good Things Foundation which provides support to those unable to get online.    🔺 Approximately two million UK households are impacted by data poverty and struggle to afford access to mobile data.     📶 That’s around two million people without access to everyday online services such as booking medical appointments, accessing homework resources or being able to speak to loved ones.    Our National Databank is a like a foodbank but provides free O2 data, texts and calls to people in need.    Those in need can ask for the National Databank at their local O2 store.    Read all about it ➡️ https://lnkd.in/etDbZSFw   #digitalpovery #sustainability

We’re delighted that Virgin Media O2 are involved in a collaborative solution with GSMA and UK Finance to launch Scam Signal, a new tool to help address and prevent APP (Authorised Push Payment) fraud in UK banking.   Our Head of AI and Data Product, Owen Dunkley, said: “We’re committed to helping protect customers from fraud and scams working across industries. We’ve successfully delivered the UK’s first Total Not Spot (TNS) mast as part of the Shared Rural Network programme. The new site in South Uist will provide 4G coverage to customers on all major networks to an area that previously had no coverage from any operator. This is part of the second phase of the Shared Rural Network which focuses on addressing Total Not Spots.
