About us

The Little Theatre, home of the Leicester Drama Society (LDS) provides a high quality of theatre to the East Midlands and has been running for over a hundred years in the heart of Leicester’s city centre. The Little Theatre produces 12 main house shows each year including musicals, drama, comedy, contemporary theatre and the classics as well as a consistently popular pantomime, performed in the 350-seat auditorium to over 25,000 audience members. We are a predominantly voluntary-run organisation funded by the Leicester Drama Society (LDS) who have established the building as their society’s home in 1932. The Leicester Drama Society proudly boasts patrons such as Sir Anthony Hopkins, Tim Pigott-Smith and Lord Richard Attenborough (who once trod the boards at The Little Theatre himself!). Membership is open to anyone interested in the theatre above the age of 16, and while we encourage all members to get involved both on and backstage, we also have many members who are simply supporters and regular audience members.
