This year has been a very busy one for The Cast Metals Federation, CMF. Our goal is to represent and support every aspect of the cast metals sector, growing our influence with stakeholders and being an advocate for our members. A few highlights: - Our response to the UK Government's Industrial Strategy consultation, which sets out our proposals for a better sector, and addressing key issues such as energy pricing, sovereign security, decarbonisation, and procurement. - Support for Members' Health and Safety through the provision of the SHIFT Initiative to get everyone working in the foundry sector home safely each day, and the hard work of Richard Heath - Launch of the Back British Metals Initiative https://lnkd.in/esaABdSr to create the policy environment for the metals industry to thrive alongside Aluminium Federation (ALFED), Cobalt Institute, International Wrought Copper Council (IWCC) and Johnson Matthey - Collaboration and Partnership with a wide range of associations and bodies from Elite Centre for Manufacturing Skills to Institute of Cast Metals Engineers, The Worshipful Company of Founders to CAEF - The European Foundry Association and European Investment Casters' Federation, Transforming Foundation Industries Network+, The WFO (World Foundry Organization), UK Metals Council, Materials Processing Institute and many many more! - Data, Research and Insights in our regular updates to members on pricing, availability, future demand and trends. - Strategic Business Relationships such as our work with LG Energy Group to support members in their energy procurement and sustainability - Representing Members at shows such as UK Metals Expo - The Leading Event for the Entire Metals Supply Chain And for the year ahead, we have some amazing projects coming to fruition such as CASTcon 2025 https://lnkd.in/eCvcSZsv It's a great time to be a part of CMF - our huge thanks to every Member, volunteer and employee - if you'd like to join the conversation, please contact us [email protected]

More (and more affordable) electricity for our #energy-challenged businesses is key for our future #competitiveness so we welcome this Action Plan from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. And of course an additional aspect of this, which should not be overlooked, is ensuring that our #UKmanufacturing companies in the #castings and wider #metals sector based all around the country, are part of the supply chains for all of the infrastructure and building required for this, and we ensure a minimum amount of UK-derived content up and down the design, procurement and build phases. We have hundreds of thousands of SMEs, in all regions of the UK, who want to be part of the solution - and our UK Trade Associations can help. We are ready to support.
