About us

What is SOLD? Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development is Surrey County Council's Outdoor Learning service. We have 3 outdoor centres - High Ashurst, near Dorking in Surrey, Thames Young Mariners, near Richmond in Surrey and Henley Fort near Guildford in Surrey. We also have a barge boat moored on the Wey River Navigations called 'Angel Blue' which is available for schools, families and small group bookings. We offer - - Day visits or residential stays for school groups - Holiday activity days for kids - Family Glamping and Staycations - Family Group Activity Bookings - Corporate Training and Development - Meeting and conference facility hire Our aim – Delivering learning outcomes. Defining the aim of your group's visit is very important to us here at Surrey Outdoor Learning and Development. You may have specific goals in mind for what you want to achieve with your pupils or we can help you define those goals. They could be involvement, broadening horizons, development of certain skills, self-awareness, building confidence, helping coordination, improving fitness, better communication or developing leadership skills. The Outdoors is a fantastic place to achieve all of these goals and more!
