This year, UK charities have been taking TikTok by storm, and we're loving it! The Hospice of St Francis is an inspiring example. They use the platform to share heartwarming stories of resilience, celebrate life, and showcase the meaningful work they do in a way that resonates with a younger audience. Here's what makes them stand out: 👉 They go beyond the expected and highlight the 'happier side' of hospice care. 👉 Scripted voiceovers (no camera shyness here!) create engaging and emotional storytelling content. 👉 They share interviews with 'real people' to build trust and connection with a new, younger audience. Intrigued? Head over to The Hospice of St Francis, Berkhamsted and check out their socials! P.S. Want to learn how YOUR charity can leverage TikTok for good? Social media managers, how inclusive is your online content? Make accessibility a priority and not an afterthought by starting with these FOUR tips: • ALT Text: Use descriptive ALT text when sharing images on social media. This allows visually impaired users to understand the content within the image. Remember, inclusivity is key! • CamelCase Hashtags: By capitalising the first letter of each word, you make your hashtags #EasyToRead, which increases their visibility and engagement. • Limit Emojis: Emojis can be a great way to add personality to your posts. However, to ensure maximum accessibility, limit the use of emojis and place them at the beginning or end of a sentence. This helps screen readers correctly interpret the content. 🙌 • High Contrast Colours: When designing your visuals, remember to use high-contrast colours for your text. This ensures that the text STANDS OUT and is easily readable by everyone, regardless of visual abilities. Do you have any more tips to share? Let us know in the comments 👇 [Image Description: Teal coloured background with a white title box that reads '4 ways to make your social content more accessible'. Four points are listed underneath in white writing on a red border, Use image ALT text, use CamelCase hashtags, limit emojis in copy, avoid low contrast colours.]
