68 children from the SOS Children's Village Rafah were evacuated to the West Bank, where they arrived safely on 11 March, accompanied by trusted caregivers who provide them with psychological support. SOS Children's Villages remains extremely concerned about people in grave danger in Gaza and continues to deliver the desperately needed aid. The SOS Children's Village Rafah is still a humanitarian location providing life-saving support to children and families. Helping children worldwide to grow up feeling safe, loved and supported.
About us
SOS Children’s Villages believes that children in crisis deserve more from life than the basics for survival such as food, water and shelter. Children everywhere have the right to grow up feeling loved, safe and supported and are entitled to a happy childhood. Young people deserve to be able to build a better future for themselves. We work with children and families living through poverty, conflict, man-made and natural disasters to ensure children have the childhood and the life they deserve. We invest in children’s futures, supporting young people to transition to employment and independence through vocational training and career development. By supporting them to grow into resilient and independent adults who can contribute to their communities, we are helping to bring about positive and lasting change. SOS Children’s Villages is present in 136 countries and territories around the world. Our programmes support children, young adults, families and communities to thrive. Targeting areas designated as humanitarian safe zones - intended to protect displaced families - is utterly unacceptable and demonstrates a blatant disregard for human life. Earlier this week, we recognised the 35th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (#CRC35), a poignant reminder of the urgent need to protect children affected by conflict. With 470 million children impacted globally, it is time to hold leaders accountable, prioritise prevention, and ensure every child has access to care, education, and family support. Together, we can amplify children’s voices, build brighter futures, and make peace a reality! 🌍 #StompingForPeace

On the 35th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (#CRC35), children worldwide are demanding accountability, prevention and protection for the 470 million children affected by war and 30 million displaced. By #StompingForPeace, we want to hold leaders accountable for breaking international laws and ensure that children are involved in decisions about their futures and peacebuilding efforts. We aim to prioritise conflict prevention and uphold children’s rights, ensuring they are protected from the devastating impact of war. We also call for guaranteed access to essential care, including food, shelter, healthcare and the reunification of families who have been separated by conflict. Together, we can work for a safer future where every child's rights are respected and their voices are heard! #CRC35 #WorldChildrensDay
