Take your business to the next level… I wanted to share an update with you all, since my attendance at the Small Business Charter event, I’ve really enjoyed completing the Help to Grow: Management Course at University of Derby over the past three months. Designed with MBA-level insights, this program offered a broad and practical overview of all key business areas. While not as comprehensive as a full MBA the insights and valuable exposure provided a taster to various business disciplines. It has been a fantastic opportunity to learn, reflect, and validate much of what we have been doing with the setup of Rue Consultancy The Help to Grow: Management Course equips small and medium business with the business skills they need to drive growth, resilience, and long-term sustainability. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the dedicated and driven individuals who delivered the course content - your insights have been invaluable. It has also been a pleasure meeting and connecting with other like-minded businesses. The 10 hours of 1-2-1 mentoring and peer group sessions has supported the modules, embedding the learnings and safe space to explore our thoughts. I am very much looking forward to putting this newfound knowledge into practice as I continue and join the Alumni Network already scheduled for next year. An unforgettable experience with substantial government funding, this really is a gift of learning. To anyone considering this course, don’t hesitate. It is such a transformative experience. ‘I am comfortable with chaos’: Ex-TV Dragon Sarah Willingham shares the secrets of her entrepreneurial success. Today the Department for Business and Trade published the latest enrolment stats for the Help to Grow: Management Course. 🚀 It's official! More than 10,000 small business leaders have now enrolled on the Help to Grow: Management Course! The Ipsos Year 3 Evaluation Report was also published today. It highlights the practical, actionable outcomes for small business leaders completing the course: ✅ 91% reported improved leadership and management skills ✅ 91% reported increased awareness of factors that drive business productivity and growth. ✅ 74% said that the programme increased business resilience. ✅ 62% said sales had increased. The research also points to the benefits of collaboration and networking with the majority feeling better supported to make decisions about their business (82%) and feeling less isolated in their role as a business leader (72%).  What a great endorsement for the Small Business Charter team and the 62 Small Business Charter accredited business schools that deliver the course.

It was a pleasure to host the Small Business Charter Board last week for our chair Michael Hayman MBE DL’s final meeting. Michael has been instrumental to our evolution, having been on the inaugural Board in 2014 before returning as Chair in 2022. A passionate supporter of the role business schools play in empowering small business success, we are truly grateful for all he has done for SBC over the past couple of years, ending his tenure with the launch of our 10th anniversary campaign.
