We're always hearing about Skills Shortages. It feels like we have so many dots to join about skills. From people to employers, from education to industry. What skills do we need to know? Who can we find to learn new skills? Who will fill roles for us? Are Qualifications and skills programmes giving us what we need? Are we implementing them where we need to? Are we implementing them where we have the right people to take them on? The future changes in #SkillsEngland will start to change the way we look at skills needs, demand and supply. Everyone wants to know what skills they need now and in the future. But lots of organisations also want this to be 'fixed' by someone, somewhere. How are you handling this today? What is your strategy for skills? #Workforce #WorkforceIntelligence #FutureOfWork #SkillsBasedHiring #Inclusive #AI #ActionableInsights #IndustrialStrategy

How does #AI help in skills and employability? #sketchnote
Moving your strategy to reality. Making things happen as a Technology & People Focussed leader | Visionary | Creative | Innovative | Digital | Flexible | Adaptive
Not done one of these in a little while! 🖌️🎨I have been creating but been doing more “art” than sketchnotes. I’ve been chatting to a few folks about their perceptions and experiences of AI in employability. Some of the issues seem to be where we overlay #AI on an already broken or dysfunctional process. So instead of looking at how we can do good things - we do the crummy things we always did but instead we do them with AI. That’s not going to change the world into a better place. Cheaper maybe. For some people. Adding value? Maybe not. But the cost will be the systems are still going to be designed to not work for the customer or not work for the outcomes we really need. This doodle is how the experience of AI in getting a new job can actually work. Skillsminer

Are you ready to invest? #Invest2035 What did you think about the UK Industrial Strategy Green paper launch yesterday? We have had a look - and while we love to hear about strengths and untapped potential - that's the whole thing with Skillsminer btw, we know it is hard to see the way to move ahead with actually *finding out* these things. Moving that strategy into action, across the UK, in a local and national way. We believe there isn't so much a skills shortage as a lack of ability [or - maybe in some cases, interest] in seeing people's potential for what they COULD do, not just what they've done before. We understand the way we develop skills is different, but the only way we are really going to make the most of the whole opportunity is to join up the dots for our places: Education, industry, regions, communities, people. Of course, we hope you will come to us to help to do this join up. It's what we've been banging on about and we have ways to get this started and give you a head start.
