The 10th annual Wates Group Chairman's Awards, held at Hampton Court Palace last week, was a joyous celebration of people, projects, and initiatives from across the Group. For SES, it was a double success! Our in-house offsite manufacturing facility, Prism, added to their awards cabinet with the 'Thriving Places' team award. Meanwhile, our Commercial Manager at Prism, David Scott, won in the 'Thriving People - Inspiring Resilience' category, with Project Director Daniel Knott also Highly Commended. David’s authentic leadership and unwavering commitment to others’ well-being, combined with his remarkable perseverance, make him a true example of resilience. Prism exemplifies the 'Thriving Places' award by achieving impressive efficiencies in time, cost, and environmental impact through offsite manufacturing, all delivered to exceptional health and safety standards. Beyond their day-to-day work, the team dedicates significant time and effort to meaningful social value activities, further demonstrating their commitment to creating a positive impact. Congratulations to all of our finalists: Daniel Knott, David Scott, James Thomas, Les Goff, Rebecca MacArthur, Scott Pearshouse, the Prism team, and the SES Supply Chain Procurement team, all nominees and, of course, to all winners on the night!

Today, we hosted a highly successful interview skills workshop for half of our Year 13 sixth form students. Over 20 fantastic volunteers from a wide range of professions joined us to help our students develop essential skills for job, apprenticeship, and university interviews. The workshop covered key areas such as: ⭐How to make a strong first impression. ⭐Presenting yourself confidently. ⭐Handling challenging interview questions. ⭐Framing responses effectively. ⭐Navigating online interviews. ⭐Leaving a positive final impression. Students then participated in mock interviews, where they put these new skills into practice. Each student had a 15-minute interview with a volunteer, followed by detailed and constructive feedback. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many volunteers commending our students for their politeness, articulate responses, and thoughtful insights. Next week, we’re excited to run the same session for the other half of the year group. A huge thank you to See it Be it in Sheffield for their invaluable support in securing such brilliant volunteers and to all the professionals who generously gave their time and expertise. You’ve made a real difference to our students’ confidence and readiness for the future! Throughout November, we've seen individuals across our industry courageously sharing their personal journeys in support of Men's Mental Health Awareness Month. Today, our Quantity Surveyor, Scott Pearshouse MRICS, joins them in telling his story. Scott has been open about the challenges he faced after suffering a traumatic brain injury several years ago. By sharing his experience, Scott continues to inspire and remind us of the importance of vulnerability and resilience. We are proud to have Scott as part of our team and are grateful for his honesty and bravery in speaking out. Together, we hope to encourage others to break the silence; reach out to friends, family, or colleagues, and remember that you are not alone. Hear more from Scott in this video: https://lnkd.in/eSmmYNxx #MensMentalHealthAwareness

Was great to be on site this week at Timber Square watching the installation of our first prefabricated riser modules on the project. A combination of 2D and 3D solutions from our in house factory #PRISM, show casing just some of what we offer in terms of off site solutions. Well done to the team on this great milestone and in particular Hayden O’Shea for leading this for SES Engineering Services and being able to find a solution to bypass the days challenges. A really worthwhile opportunity to help ensure children across Yorkshire have a present under the Christmas tree this year. Thank you to Yorkshire Children's Charity - we had a great morning, and it was nice to see a small portion of the work you do! SES Engineering Services
