Today, we've revealed images of five stamps being issued to celebrate Christmas 2024. The stamps feature some of the many spectacular cathedrals in the UK in Edinburgh, Liverpool, Armagh, Bangor and Westminster. The stamps were illustrated by Penzance-based, British artist, Judy Joel, whose popular paintings have been sold worldwide over the last 50 years. We worked with Canon Janet Gough, OBE, one of the UK’s foremost experts on cathedrals and church buildings on the stamp issue. We've partnered with The Postal Museum and Cornish small business, Flotsam Flo, to upcycle a selection of our old trolley sleeves, used to line the 850,000 wheeled cages that transport parcels through our network, into handmade bags as part of ongoing ambitions to reduce waste. As part of the partnership, the upcycled trolley sleeves, now unique handmade bags designed by Flotsam Flo, are available exclusively for preorder online at: http://ms.spr.ly/6044WRFzM and instore from late November (subject to availability). The Postal Museum is an award-winning, independent museum based in London that covers 500-years of communications history and is home to the underground Mail Rail attraction. The museum has committed to make meaningful change to its operation and achieve the goal of Net-Zero emissions by 2040. This partnership supports this goal, as well as a UK based small business, and the work of the museum.

We've partnered with tech innovator Wiliot to transform the way we track items travelling through our network, using breakthrough digital tagging to provide unprecedented visibility. As well as improving efficiency and reliability, this will help us with our target of being Net-Zero by 2040 by optimising vehicle use depending on volume and reducing overall fuel use. We're about to complete tagging our 850,000 containers, called Yorks, which are used to transport customers’ parcels and letters around the country, and we have plans to use the digital tags on individual parcels in future. Our first electric vehicles to bear the cypher of King Charles III are hitting the streets this week! 🚘 Earlier this year we announced plans to add an extra 2,100 electric vans to our fleet. We’ve continued our long-term partnership with Peugeot UK to supply these vans which include 1,100 E-PARTNER vans built at Ellesmere Port, the UK’s first EV-only volume manufacturing plant. Peugeot, alongside its sister Stellantis brands, is the only brand to manufacture electric vans in volume in the UK. They’re also supplying 1,000 fully electric E-EXPERT vans as part of the deal. We already have the largest electric delivery fleet in the UK, and these additions will increase our electric fleet to 7,100 vans. When all 2,100 new electric vans are in use, they are expected to reduce Royal Mail’s total emissions by around 6,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent per year.
