One year of Brent Cross West station!
Yesterday, along with members of the community, local councillors and the Thameslink station team we celebrated the first anniversary of Brent Cross West – London’s youngest railway station, which opened in Barnet last December. As one of the first rail projects in the UK to be led by a local authority we’ve been incredibly proud to watch the popularity of the station grow with over half a million journeys taken to and from Brent Cross West in the last 12 months, that’s around 2,000 trips being taken every day. Brent Cross West has significantly changed the way local people get around the area and is ready to support future development. It is the gateway to our new and growing net zero neighbourhood Brent Cross Town, which we are developing in partnership with Related Argent. Next year at Brent Cross Town we look forward to welcoming our first residents, opening a new community space alongside new public squares and continuing to progress our first office building - home to Sheffield Hallam University’s future London campus.
