How To Be A Great Leader Being a great leader means your team all feel included, respected, and are aware of what tasks they need to complete. To be able to lead your team, you need to be able to focus. This focus must be on yourself – how you’re feeling and the decisions you make, you team – creating relationships that encourage teamwork, recognising where changes can be made and problems can be sold, and the wider focus – your strategy and work with other leaders. You can enhance your leadership skills by allowing yourself to find guidance and engage with your workers, so you can understand your team and figure out where things can be improved in all aspects of your organisation. ➡️ To access free resources to help you tackle race inequality, join the REM network: http://ow.ly/Lo5q50OFiZf #ActionDrivesChange #RaceEqualityMatters Credit: Tanmay Voya & Daniel Goleman

REW Day 3: Belonging or Bust! Get Ready to Supercharge Race Equality Week 2025! #EveryActionCounts As well as recruitment, retention and the wellbeing of the colleagues continues to be a challenge. Research shows it's the individuals who feel they don't belong are most affected. In many organisations tackling race inequality typically rests on the shoulder of a few - including race network leads, HR and DEI. Its a heavy load to bear. How do we create the environment and cultures where people feel valued and they belong which enables us to keep hold of our talent? Due to popular demand this event has been created to address this. ✔️ 94% would recommend Race Equality Matter's events ✔️ 91% of attendees say they learnt something new. ✔️ 83% say they will look to implement something they have learnt. From inspiring insights to energising conversations, this year’s events are designed to spark action, ignite ideas, and connect people with a shared vision of equality. Don’t just watch change happen—be the change! Day 3: Belonging or Bust! 📅 Date: 6th February 2025 ⏰ Time: 12:15 pm - 1:45 pm 📌 Location: Zoom We have been focussing a lot on inclusion, yet attrition in organisations is still high, people feel invisible and don’t have a voice, mental health and well-being is often affected. Research shows that its because of the lack of feeling that they don’t belong. This event will focus on: ➡️ Intersectionality: Not putting people in boxes but looking at individuals and all their intersectional identities and enabling their strengths to flourish and accepting and accommodating their challenges. Only 13% said their workplace created a sense of community for people with intersectional identities ➡️ Inclusion V Belonging: Why we need to put belonging at the heart of everything - Understand the difference between inclusion and belonging and implement what works. ➡️ Active Allyship Matters: Hear how allies can champion belonging every day. Our research shows that only 25% of people believe they have active allies in their organisation This is your chance to create a workplace where everyone thrives. #Antiracist versus "Not Racist" ~Inspired by Ibram X Kendi, How to be Antiracist~ Antiracist -- 👁 Awareness: Being aware of your own biases, privileges, and how you benefit from white supremacy 👂 Listening: Leaning in and listening without centering your own experiences and whiteness; owning your mistakes and not getting defensive 📚 Education: Educating yourself on race, racism, and white supremacy; paying Black educators (not expecting free education) 🔊 Activism: Speaking out in your personal life, professional life, and social media, and calling people out/in as needed "Not Racist" -- 🙈 Colorblindness: Saying things such as "I don't see color" or "I don't care whether you are Black, white, or purple" 🗺 Proximity: Making comments like, "My husband/ kids/ uncle/ brother/ friend/ roommate is Black, so I can't be racist!" 🙉 Avoidance: Avoiding conversations about race and racism, and asserting that talking about racism perpetuates it 🔇 Silence: Staying silent when others make racist comments or jokes, noting that it's ok as long as you are not the one saying it #Antiracism #AntiracismEducation #AntiracistEducation POST CREDIT: Dr. Batsheva Guy ~Inspired by Ibram X Kendi, How to be Antiracist~
