Working with The Local Government Association, we brought together a fantastic group of local government leaders and cutting-edge startups to explore the power of technology in transforming local services. With more than 80 attendees in the room and more than 150 joining virtually, it was a truly inspiring day of collaboration and innovation. "Today was a great example of how important it is for councils to share and learn from one another. It's about building trust and understanding while fostering innovation. 💥 Did you know, 70% of public procurement teams surveyed by PUBLIC in the UK do not consider environmental factors when buying ICT? This risks missing out on a huge opportunity to cut carbon emissions and reduce environmental impact. 🌱 By encouraging decision-makers to factor in the environmental credentials of vendors during the procurement stage, we can ensure suppliers meet certain green standards and help reduce this impact. In the UK, that means turning to procurement approaches that reference environmental criteria, as well as existing environmental labels and standards, for guidance when writing new ICT procurements.
