Laura Savage, Arlene Callan and Alistair Kerr had a fantastic meeting with Minister Tom Arthur today who is the Minister for Employment and Investment, where they discussed a range of strategic topics including community wealth, supported employment, and the importance of moving disadvantaged and disabled individuals into the workforce. They also explored ways to engage economically inactive people and highlighted how social value and community wealth play a crucial role in making these initiatives successful. We can't wait to see how these discussions continue to play out in 2025.

🔔 How IKEA is Pioneering Refugee Inclusion in the Workplace A huge thanks to Hiliary Jenkins, Sustainability Business Partner at IKEA, and Tanya Hamilton, EDI Leader at IKEA UK and Ireland, who led the latest Social Recruitment Advocacy Group Lunch and Learn webinar. It was truly eye-opening. Together they shared how SRAG member IKEA's innovative approach to refugee employment in the UK is breaking barriers and inspiring change - and not just here in the UK, but worldwide. So many thought-provoking takeaways - here are just a few: 💡 Transformative Impact A refugee employment program can drive inclusion and create pathways to meaningful work, sustained work - with 70% retention possible in retail! 💡 Rethinking Recruitment Innovative processes make opportunities more accessible while challenging outdated perceptions. 💡 Diversity as a Strength How embracing diverse skills and experiences enriches teams and builds a stronger brand. The session went deep into the how behind these achievements, exploring practical steps, real-world challenges, and the powerful impact of collaboration. ❔ How can your organisation play a role in creating more inclusive pathways to employment for refugees, and other marginalised people? Drop a comment or email [email protected] to explore how you can access the session, take inspiration from IKEA’s incredible work, and become part of th the #SRAG community. #Inclusion #SocialImpact #Leadership #RefugeeEmployment #EDI Jemma Hirschfield Assoc CIPD Cheryl Craig (She/Her) Alan Felstead Dr Craig Corrigan Emma Grigson
