👋 Influencer marketers 👋 We originally created this as an internal resource but its too good to not share here: This calculator takes a bunch of inputs from your brand such as: - AOV - LTV - Gross profit margin - Target CAC - Discount your influencers share with their audience And uses this to tell you the commission rate you should offer your affiliates, considering that you want to profit as much as possible from each sale while still offering a generous enough commission to keep influencers motivated. ❓Why is PR free but Affiliate marketing isn’t? 🤔 We’ve thought long and hard about this. Why do media publications run anything for free, often called ‘editorial’ content, when they could all charge for a feature/placement. Let’s face it if you approach it from an Affiliate angle they’ll always aim to charge you. Then on the other hand PR is pretty immeasurable, especially in comparison to Affiliate Marketing. 🎭 New research from the British Arts Festivals Association (BAFA) claims that the UK arts sector is at a critical tipping point. For a sector desperately dependent on corporate sponsors, it has done a pretty lousy job of making itself an attractive sponsorship proposition. There have been many highly publicised cases of long-serving art sponsors experiencing significant and harmful public backlash from art audiences. Baillie Gifford and BMW Group come to mind despite being amongst the more progressive players in their industries. The irony, of course, is that, as this research shows, many of these much-loved art events and institutions would cease to exist without the support of corporate art sponsors. So, should corporate sponsors walk away and leave the arts to their fate? Or is there still a compelling business case for supporting art events despite the challenges? 🔗 Can Affiliate Marketing be more than just a link? The answer is of course…yes! But they really do all cross over with one another. 🍃 The most interesting cross overs are when one type of partnership leans into another. Affiliate Marketing is traditionally when an advertiser works with a 3rd party to encourage clicks through to their site. But sometimes it can be so much more than that, that it then falls into the Partnership Marketing category. This is done with… 🟢 API partnerships - providing a feed to bolster the affiliate placement. Uber featuring on Citymapper with live pricing is a great example of this. 🟢 White-labels - comparison sites integrating a white-label of a service as their own, takes it much deeper than just an affiliate link. If you’ve ever used Compare the Market, most of their partnerships are white-labels now instead of click-outs. 🟢 Widgets - rather than supplying your banner, text link, or piece of content. Why not create an interactive widget. This gives some upfront information or passes through captured data into the onward flow. An example of this is CarFinance247 who have a car finance calculator widget on car affiliate sites which gives upfront borrowing figures before the customer even clicks through to them. If you want your Affiliate Marketing to work, be bolder, think Partnership Marketing. Utilise these extra initiatives that enhance the ‘link’ and offer more to the customer / journey. #partnershipmarketing #affiliatetips #partnerships

Here’s what they found: YouTube → Nano (10k–50k followers): Under $500 → Micro (50k–100k): $500 to $1.5k → Mid-tier (100k–500k): $1.5k to $7.5k → Macro (500k–1M): $7.5k to $20k → Mega (1M+): $20k+ Newsletters → CPM: $10 to $30 per 1,000 impressions → CPC: $1 to $5 per click Instagram → Nano (1k–10k): Under $100 → Micro (10k–50k): $100 to $500 → Mid-tier (50k–100k): $500 to $3k → Macro (100k–500k): $3k to $10k → Mega (500k+): $10k+ TikTok → Nano (1k–10k): Under $100 → Micro (10k–100k): $500 to $1.2k → Mid-tier (100k–500k): $1.2k to $2k → Macro (500k–1M): $2k to $5k → Mega (1M+): $5k+ LinkedIn → Up to 10k followers: $250 → 10k–50k: $500 → 50k–100k: $650 → 100k–500k: $2.5k From my experience, many of these averages are close to what I’ve seen.
