Remembering Kris Hallenga, founder of CoppaFeel!
Everyone at Panache is incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Kris Hallenga. Kris was a remarkable woman who, aged just 23, was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer - a year after being turned away from her GP. Kris lived with the illness for 15 years, and tirelessly campaigned to raise awareness of early diagnosis, founding the charity CoppaFeel!.
Thanks to the relentless hard work from Kris and her twin sister Maren, CoppaFeel! is now the third most recognised cancer charity in the UK, campaigning to eradicate late diagnosis, and focusing on the education of signs and symptoms of breast cancer. We are proud to have supported this brilliant charity for several years now, and will continue to do so as Kris’s legacy lives on.
John Power, Managing Director of Panache said “I’m so very sad to hear of the news about Kris. I’m sure everyone who has benefitted by the impact CoppaFeel! has had over the years will mourn the loss of such a great campaigner. I, and all at Panache, send our deepest sympathies to Kris’s family and the team at CoppaFeel!. May Kris’s legacy live on!”
In a statement, CoppaFeel! said “Kris’s life mission was that CoppaFeel! would no longer need to exist, with late diagnosis of breast cancer eradicated in her lifetime. We are committed to continuing Kris’s legacy, to ensure that everyone has the best chance of living a happy and healthy life.”
We strongly encourage people to access and share the wealth of educational materials available on the CoppaFeel! website and social media – it could be a lifesaver to you, or someone close to you.
