Today we’ve released the latest statistics on Prescribing patterns for Care Home Patients. The estimated number of care home patients aged 65 years and over who received prescribing increased each financial year. The number of prescription items and associated drug cost also increased. Insights are provided at a national and local level, showing trends over time and variation for key prescribing metrics. We’ve updated the Contractor Details dataset in our Open Data Portal (ODP) with new fields, including: • Region name and code • Health and Wellbeing Board name and code • Local Pharmaceutical Committee name and code • Dispenser account type • Contractor type • Flags for Local Pharmaceutical Services (LPS) contractors, distance selling, out of hour and 100-hour pharmacies This allows us to provide a more comprehensive overview of contractor information and streamline your access to this data. We’ve released the latest quarterly summary statistics for dependency-forming medicines, indicating a decrease in cost in the last quarter. It includes data on five categories of medicines such as Opioid pain medicine, Gabapentinoids, Benzodiazepines, and Z-drugs. Some analysis covers antidepressants.
